Ok, so my gaming group is playing in a Scarred Lands Campaign for D&D 3.5. My ranger shot arrows at a creature and they simply 'bounced off of some shield". I incredulously balked at this power and was distraught to be relying upon melee weapons. After the night's game, the DM said if I could ID the power I could go up a level (he was quite confident I would not discover what this was). SO, here is my info:

- a power (on a monster) that deflects (or grants immunity to) magical and normal missile weapons (arrows)

Let me know if anyone has ideas. Thanks!

The Shield spell?

That's just a guess I'll need to go flip through my 3.5 spells and monster manuals.

TD monks are not immune to magical missiles, only non-magical ones.
Have you looked it up in the TDb ?

Nope. Not shield. No roll involved in the immunity.

I started dumping feats into melee after this.

That doesn't work against magic ranged attacks.

Depending on the damage of the hit, Iron Body could produce a similar effect.

Resilient Sphere could also produce that kind of effect, but the monster would need to be very small and you still wouldn't be able to attack it in melee.

I thought he was saying magical missles, e.g. +1 arrows, as opposed to ranged magic like Magic Missles.

Protection from Arrows wouldn't work against either. It has damage reduction 10/magic, so magical arrows or ammo fired from a magical ranged weapon will cut straight through it.
