TOPIC: Griffin's Progress

Forumites:

Today marks the very last chemo treatment of Griffin's active phases of treatment for leukemia. Starting soon, he'll be in Maintenance Phase... which is very good news. That phase lasts 3 years, but is far less intense, far less dangerous, and full of far fewer side effects.

Unfortunately, today also finds Griffin in the hospital with what looks like an infection. We've been in and out of the hospital for a few days now... He's been spiking fevers north of 104. He's strong, and will get through this last big hurdle.

This community has been supportive beyond measure, and though I was hoping to give unadulterated good news today, I feel like this is still a time to celebrate. I'm looking forward to meeting those of you I haven't yet this year at the convention. If somehow I see you at the con and am too distracted to say it, let me say it here: thank you.

Paul, I'm glad Griffin is through the worst of the treatments, and I hope that he gets over this infection soon also.

Good news. I hope the maintenance goes well, too.
