TOPIC: WoW Tuesday

WoW Tuesday 18 years 4 months ago #1

Hey guys,

Back in the day (like before Gencon Indy) a bunch of us used to get together and play CoH on Tuesday nights. Now that many of us have started playing WoW some of us have talked about doing this same thing on WoW. At this point, it looks like Tom, Rob and I but I haven't talked to many people yet. Incase you didn't play CoH with us here are the basics:

Create a character that you will play with the Tuesday night group only. This will allow the 'party' to stay near the same level regardless of how much time everyone has to play each week. With all of the profession and skill segments in WoW I think it is cool to craft or farm other times, but limit your experience gaining activities to Tuesdays. We played last week so at this point our 'Tuesday' characters are 7th level. We will have people from various time zones so play with begin 'after work', which will vary for everyone.

I have created a guild for the Tuesday group named Devotes of Tyr, because as I learned from the Days of the Week puzzle, the name Tuesday comes from the God Tyr. (Note: Ash has created a True Dungeon Guild for all non-Tues characters) I am going to make cool guild tabards today, the bad news is that they cost one gp to buy. I will be on most of today as either my Tues character Geldikain or my main Alebeard. Send me a tell if you want to log in today and I will add you to the guild. As with the main TD guild, we are on the Agremmar (sp?) server.

Also, if you want to post your character name, class and profession here we can try and create a well rounded group of classes and skills. I am a human mage with herbalism and alchemy. Rob is also human (Paladin) so if you want to play another race you will have to make the long journey to human-land.

I think that covers everything...

WoW = World of Warcraft

It is a MMORPG (= Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) where 3 million people across 50(?) servers all go on quests, slay creatures, train in various professions, and accumulate gold and magic items among other things.

It is a fun game and I played for a while but takes too much time. ;)

Speaking of which, this has come up before but I think it is wise to learn things from WoW and apply them to TD when possible. TD is more like WoW than say Magic. More specifically, Instance runs in WoW.

So playing WoW is like research for TD, right?? :D

Thanks, I usually am able to gather enough from what is said to be able to follow along with what you all are saying.
But once you guys start tossing out abbreviations I get lost. *little laugh* Thanks for clarifying. And sorry to be the one always asking the stupid questions.

I like the sound of 'research' over just playing a game ;)

I just started playing this week so I haven't gotten to an instance dungeon yet...

Okay, My nightelf hunter is going to play probably...but he's already a part of the True Dungeon guild. Can I switch guilds or how does that work? Or do we just want to start all from scratch since there will be even more n00bs. Ideas?

I am up for anything, either playing existing guys in the neihborhood of 7th level or just starting new characters tonight. Whatever most people want to do is fine with me. My initial thought is to just play existing guys now until we get everyone organized. It may be a few sessions before everyone gets hooked up. At that point if we want to start fresh we can. I am just afraid if we start fresh tonight, someone else will join in the next week or to and still be behind.

As far as the guilds go, you can go to your guild tab under social and there is an option to quit guild. Then we can add you to the Tuesday guild. I won't be able to really play until about 7:30 mountain time, but I will be logged in at work so that I can add everyone to the guild. Just look for Geldikain.

Funny story about the guild name. You guys have probably noticed the I can't spell reference in my signature. Well I spelled the guild name wrong as Devotes instead of Devotees. Luckily a GM was able to fix it for me or we would have forever been the guild that couldn't even spell their name right.
