TOPIC: Poor puppy

Poor puppy 13 years 7 months ago #1

My poor puppy. She's got a cyst on the inside of her eyelid. I got her some meds to make it not irritate her so much and she has to go get surgery for it...3 weeks away, it's worse than scheduling for people. Poor me, with the checkup today, all her annual stuffs, and the surgery it's gonna be about $700 all told.

If you wanna chip in I'll gladly accept the help :) If she coulda just waited a couple months we get a nice big bonus in March.

Many banks will lend you the money on a short term basis especially if you can show that you have income coming in the next few months. I've done it before when I was a poor college student and living month to month. My boss forgot to put in my paper work for my job and thus I wasn't going to get paid for a month. My bank lent me the money with a reasonable interest rate for a short term especially since I could show that I was getting the money soon. Also, a short-term loan like this builds credit which is also a Good Thing (tm).

There is also a company called "Care Credit" (I think). They will lend you up to $500 on medical bills (including pets) at a low (no?) interest rate. We had applied for it for my dog, who ended up not needing it, hence the sketchy details.

CareCredit will give you a credit line depending on your financial situation. $500 is probably the minimum. You use it like a credit card at places that accept it and they will give you so many months interest free to pay it back depending on how much was put on the card. ~$700 will probably give you 6 or 9 months of no interest to pay it back.

Be warned, however, they do "accrue" interest during the promotional period. If you pay it all off before the end, you don't have to pay that interest (hence, zero percent), but if you do not pay it back before the timeframe ends, they do charge that interest at a fairly high rate (20% area or so.)

It's great for those sudden expenses, so you can pay it off month by month. I used it for my cat's vet visit when he needed his heart checked out, and for my wisdom teeth. Check with your vet to make sure they accept it before applying.
