Funny! Reading the fine print, that was posted at a gaming store at my alma mater, Madison WI.

Thanks for the nostalgia!

The one time I DMed TD in Indy I had a guy in my group that smelled so freakin' nasty that I had to go get kleneex and shove it up my nose. And that was on a Friday - I can't imagine what he smelled like by Sunday.

I still remember GenCon 17 as being one of the funkiest... I was camping at a campground not far from the convention site and the line for showers (there were two stalls in a communal shower set-up) was so long, many people were just blowing off showering and heading straight to the con... NAAAAAAASSSSSTTTTTYYYYY... of course, the time I spent in M:tG tournaments from 95-98 is worth mentioning too... ick.
Legally... its questionable. Morally... its disgusting. Personally... I *like* it.

Gen Con is getting better! Back in the old Parkside days Gen Con's worse venue was the NON-air conditioned Dealer's Room in a gymnasium that was a quarter-mile walk across a sunny lawn from the main building.

BTW, I still have my Gen Con 17 T-shirt! Maybe we gamed together!

That is awesome! Let's see, I remember playing in the AD&D Snow Crystal Odyssey tournament, a 20+ player event called "The King's Birthday Party", some Top Secret event I can't remember much about, a 15mm Italian Condiateri wargame, and Last Starfighter miniatures event. :-P Gads that was a long time ago!
We got to the finals of the Snow Crystal Tournament, but we blew it off to play in the finals of the AD&D Open. That's right -- we rocked the house that year. Unfortunately, some guy named Ed Greenwood helped some other team kick our butts.

We should have played Snow Crystals!

And I think I went to a seminar that year with the TOP SECRET team of Merle Rasmusen and Penny Petticord. Merle was awesome.

Holy cow... that was it. I remembered Penny being at that, but for the life of me I can't remember a lot about it. :-P And in Snow Crystal I played Kalvin the monk, I do remember that much. Too many years (and beers) ago.
