Question on the Grindstone

Since It adds +1 hit and damage with ranged attacks, will it also add hit and damage to slide spells? Read as written that appears to be the case, but it doesn't seem intended that a grindstone would buff spells.

What is the designation “core” on each of these URs?

So if I understand correctly this version of the grindstone benefits all classes in a slotless manner (no slot contention). This means:

1) no one really gains anything as long as you buy this UR, except for classes that make multiple attacks. Ex, paladin that springs for the grindstone gains +1 damage on 1 attack just like a rogue, but monk and melee ranger gain 1 damage on 2 attacks (1 damage gain over single attack class).

2) Monster AC can go up by 1 to compensate for everyone having +1 hit, but casters that hit a static AC now have an easier time hitting that static AC.

Is that an accurate summary of the design intent and final effect of the grindstone?

I'm hoping that once we modify the combat rules, that no class will be able to apply multiple damage bonuses in a turn. That would help on your first point. It will be interesting to see.

Maybe, but I think this will be more important for abilities that might be moving to Int/Wis for +hit, as that is harder to get. Also Fighters can use this for power attack turning it from +1/+1 to +0/+2 (and then getting double strike on top of that). So while good for all classes, it will be better for some.

It does feel like a must buy.

+1 Good catch. I am also very interested in this new "core" designation and what it could signal for the game going forward.

It’s for the Mythic Core. 2018 UR and later and be turned in to make the Mythic Cores. ( 4 or 6 if I remember correctly )

EDIT: Page 9 upper left hand corner. It’s 5 UR of 2018 or newer

Can we get a definition on what qualifies as a mystic stave?

Tokens that include the word "Mystic Staff" in their title and are weapons?

If it's not too late, can you replace "core" with a dot.

I think it's a bit of an eyesore and clutters up the UR tokens to have this word in such a prominent spot.

If not a dot, maybe a symbol or a “C”

Or - even better - leave core convertible URs without any mark at all, and put a dot on the ones you can’t convert, like large order incentives etc.
