2 Comments:

1) Ring of the Dire Ram should probably be a 3* token. I think most players would find it hard to justify spending the typical 4* transmute cost on a 1/game effect.


2) I still think the Legendary Ioun Stone Sunstone Trilliant would dramatically more balanced with just 3 types of damage resist. For example, Darkrift, Sacred, and Acid.

If you really want to get the powers of the SRoEC back in print on a single token without dramatically changing balance on damage reists, please consider using the Arcanum Ring to reintroduce -10 damage to Cold / Fire / Shock / Sonic on a ring token.

I totally agree on Legendary Trilliant being significantly overpowered, but it is looking like it is going to stay that way.

I'd love for the Arcanum Ring to be powerful and fun. The first three Eldritch tokens were great (RotSP, SRoEC, BotFW) but all the Eldritch and Arcanum tokens since then have been underpowered and unpopular. I hope we can boost the power levels up on remaining Arcanum tokens.

I think the Skull of Cavadar is pretty awesome and ranks well as an Eldritch item. I do hope the next Arcanum item is closer to BoTFW then where it looks like the grieves are going to end up.

As for SRoEC vs Trilliant, I think this item makes it easier to assume most party members will have the DR at Nightmare+ and go ahead and plan for it in module design. I think the game will be better off for having the Legendary Trilliant.

I am sad to see Trilliant in its current form, I think its too good and steps over Supreme Ring of Elemental Command.

I would suggest 3 types of reduction at legendary. Sacred, Darkrift and Force
If you want a bigger leap between legendary and relic, I'd suggest 4. Sacred, Darkrift, Force and Pyschic.

I think Endgame's idea of making this effect on the Arcanum ring is a good idea, since it does what I wanted of keeping the elemental DR effect in the same slot making it more of a commitment to stack them. I still prefer what I brought up previously about making them next years completion relics:

The two relic rings could be something like:
+3 Retribution Damage, +10 Fire + Ice DR (Ring of the Remorhaz)
+2 Saves, +10 Sonic + Shock DR (Ring of Thor's Protection) (Yeah, I know we're missing the Norse year with this one)

Completion rewards to make the rings could be:
Ring of the Remorhaz
+2 Retribution Damage (Ring)
+1 Retribution Damage (Iounstone)
+2 Fire DR (Ioun Stone)
+2 Frost DR (Ioun Stone)
+3 Fire DR (Bead)
+3 Frost DR (Bead)
+3 Fire DR (Charm)
+3 Frost DR (Charm)

Ring of Thor's Protection
+1 Saves (Ring)
+1 Saves (Bead)
+2 Shock DR (Ioun Stone)
+2 Sonic DR (Ioun Stone)
+3 Shock DR (Bead)
+3 Sonic DR (Bead)
+3 Shock DR (Charm)
+3 Sonic DR (Charm)

Just to pile on here that -10 damage from 6 different elemental is quite a lot for 1 token, especially in a slot that allows multiple items like Ioun Stone. That seems Mythic level of utility.

I like the suggestion that the legendary should give a +1 saves bump bring the total elements to 3. I'm not partial to anything in particular, but Force or Psychic would seem to be in theme as damage types frequently found on bosses.

My biggest concern is that I'll no longer be able to play in Nightmare groups if module design starts to account for this token.

Questions for TokenDB Entries:

Crown of the Tavern: What constitutes a "drawback" - in particular, are the 1/room limits on this year's healing potions a "drawback?"

Shirt of Modest Luck: What constitutes a "higher rarity" than Relic? Considering: Paragon, Premium, and the various grades of Combo tokens.

IS Sunstone Trilliant:
-10 DR is a lot; still against it but it's been said a lot and still unchanged, so I presume that number won't be budging.
Progression is higher than other Legendary lines, going from 1 -> 2 -> 6 elemental resistances. For comparison, other recent Legendary lines include Gregor's (5 -> 6 -> 8), Boaz's (2 -> 3 -> 5), Vim's (2 -> 4 -> 6), Luna's (2 -> 3 -> 4), Muk's (2 -> 4 -> 6). This would be more in-line with others if it granted 1 -> 2 -> 4 elemental resistances instead.
