TOPIC: Please add more Viper runs for the Golden Ticket runs at GenCon

With all the runs except Viper being repeats and most everyone doing a GT run having already done them, is it possible to either add another Viper run or replace one of the repeats with a Viper run? The new adventure slots filled up 15 minutes from when Druegar announced them.

It's strange to have one of the only two available runs also be a sealed pack run without options for using other tokens. I'm pretty sure this hasn't happened with a GT run in the past as well.

Some of us did the sealed pack 4 dungeon run for the GT last year. I had a lot of fun. If anything, I'd prefer Golden Obelisk for GT rather than the Redux.

Agreed. New content is the most i portant part.

Bear in mind that the purpose of the GT runs is also to make certain that the props, DMs, NPCs, etc are all ready for "The best 4 days in gaming"

We have a great responsibility to make sure everyone who plays Thursday-Saturday has a good time.

They are also offering Viper as the GT run at GameholeCon.

Understood but these adventures are replays of older ones. Only (some) of the puzzles haven’t been tested several hundred times.


GT runs were used, in part, to dry run 100% new adventures. Modules used to premier at GenCon.

Considering the expense and rarity of GT runs and getting stuck in a rerun is disappointing. There is a reason why every slot of the new adventure was gone within minutes.

If you guys disagree, jump put of Viper and go into Curse.

I agree I would rather play a new dungeon than an old one.

Also note I won't be AR GC. Do I can't give you a slot.

Virtually all runs will have new props and puzzles.

Any that don't still need to be tested.

Every adventure needs a test: even if it’s been run on another con, it still needs to be tested to make sure all the timing works, that the props function and are unpacked and are in the right places. That the actor is comfortable with the room. It’s not about the playtest. It’s a dress rehearsal in many ways.

Based on that log8c, why not golden obelisk? It is, arguably, more important as an intro adventure for new players. Right now, we have runs for 2 repeat adventures, 1 new adventure, and 1 quasi-new (will have premiered at Origins but new to most Gencon attendees.)

Well, there are currently only two open GT slots for Gen Con and 2 GTs for sale at Trent's site. I think it's safe to assume there are at least a couple more GTs floating around. If TD wants to continue allowing those with a GT their choice of con, they will very likely need to add another GT run. That doesn't mean it will be Temple of the Dune Viper, but they likely need to add something.

I'd recommend adding obelisk as an option if slots run short.
