I'll be a jerk and say that I'm not a fan of adding new pieces and new benefits to sets that are no longer PYP unless we get a reprint of the initial pieces. Retroactively making something more powerful after we have the ability to purchase it first party doesn't feel great.

I get that some older sets (Redoubt, Dragonscale) were progressive 1 piece/year over several years, and that's fine. No difference than multi-year Arcanum stuff now. Same with the various Lucky pieces (Kilt, Cloak, Charm) that opened the same 2-piece bonus to all classes.

But adding new powers to a "one and done" set like Death Knight after the window closed to get in on the initial pieces would really leave a bad taste in my mouth.

I’m all for death knights pieces, they have been discussed over the last few years in multiple areas which sets a tone that more could be coming, I could see a reprint… maybe, but they are less than 3 years old from the last print of them, it’s not as old as the dragonscale.

Anyway, I like the shield going death knight but not this sword, as much as I like it, the whole point of this sword is to give fighters a unique weapon just for them. By making it a death knight price, we would have to open it up to multiple classes which takes the unique fighter weapon, and takes it away. I’m all for one in a different path or next year.

You don't have to open it to other classes if we make it death knight. It just means that only Fighters could have the legendary version for their death knight set, but other classes could have Relic and UR

For what it's worth the Death Knight Mail was an addition to the set in 2022, and is still a PYP today. So there's already precedent of adding to the set. And there's a history of UR sets getting UR additions later: Arcane, Lucky, Vipers, Mithral, Might. Sometimes just expanding access to the set.

We haven't had a 6 piece set in a while, and melee class centric seems natural for a large set.

But I do feel the Death Knight set among others should get reprint cycles.

I had the same thought.

Agreed but I would still be sad my Paladin wouldn’t be able to use the legend version 😂, but I concede

I'll be completely honest. 90% of the reason I want a 6 piece death knight bonus is so I can be this guy:

Re sword names, what would people think about expanding the lore such that TD Deathknights just use savage swords?

Or doing something like +2 Deathknight sword then keeping the Savage sword names on the relic & legendary but just adding (part of Deathknight set as a power).

This could also be cool from a lore perspective in that it might imply that Kilgor was a Deathknight.

In fairness, Pallies already can't use the Legendary version as it appears on the contact sheet today

First of all, great job! This looks like a good set of URs.

It feels like I might be in the minority on this one as I've not seen much mention of it, but the Gloves of the Gladiator seem too strong to me. Even setting aside URs which have been rendered obsolete like Gloves of Dexterity and Gloves of Weapon Finesse, previous UR gloves still include:

Gloves of the Deadshot: +3 to hit with Ranged Attacks, plus a 3-part set bonus for +1 level
Gauntlets of Divine Guidance: +3 to hit with Melee attacks, +1 to healing
Gloves of the Brute: +5 to Strength, -2 to Dexterity
Gloves of the Cutpurse: +5 to Dexterity, -2 to Strength

The first two gloves provide +3 to hit with one type of attack, plus a minor benefit.

The second two gloves provide +2 or +3 to hit with one type of attack, plus another major benefit form the same stat, but at the cost of a stat penalty.

Providing +3 to hit with both types of attack from the same token with no downside feels to me like a significant step up above any existing URs, even to the point of being Relic level rather than UR. +2/+2 to hit seems like a more appropriate level of power than +3/+3.
I play Rogue. Occasionally I even play Rogue well.

I agree! (was going to post "+1" but that seemed ambiguous in this context)
