See below for a PDF with details of the new Safehold program -- as well as a JPG of all the new Safehold related tokens. Be sure to zoom in for maximum ocular excitement.

Thank you all for the amazing input regarding ideas for the Safehold program. The Lords and Ladies have been very helpful to get us to this point.

The PDF is a large info dump -- so don't fret if you feel a bit overwhelmed by the wall of text. Ask any questions, and the fine TD Community will help you out. We may do a explainer video once all the details are ironed out.

Regarding the design: I was tempted to make something that would have required a lot of record keeping and admining, but in the end I decided our extra efforts would be better spent working on adventures. So, we have crafted a bit of fun that should provide years of collecting enjoyment, as well as expand the game. I am sorry if you are disappointed in the depth of the program, but we have only so much time.

The central theme of this Safehold idea is that your character builds a permanent home, hires some folks to help her train for an upcoming adventure, and then does specialized training to prep before each adventure. The larger and better her training team becomes the better her choices. At the higher levels, your character can hire special Transmuters to craft Mythic tokens that are on a power level greater than Legendary tokens.

Thanks for any feedback you might wish to share. I'd like to get these locked down by Friday. We have the entire 2024 Treasure Token Collection to hit next...and it is ready to show. I can't wait to share it with you. (Yeah...I've been a bit busy...)

For the Safehold V recipe, I feel it would be more clear to read:
  • 1x Safehold V - Under Construction
  • 2x 1,000 GP Bar

Same would go with including the Hireling Steward token in the Hireling recipe imo.

This looks very cool Jeff. I'm curious to see how this +20 treasure tokens is going to play out and what all it will stack with as well as the new player level cards.

Underling Steward still reads “Apprentice tokens” instead of the new underling tokens.

Thanks, Jeff! It looks like a fun addition to TD, and VERY VERY powerful!

I'm glad you made Safehold V so affordable, so that most people will be able to participate in at least that level if they wish.

On Page 5, under "More About Mythic Tokens" it says granting the maximum treasure bonus". You might want to change that to "grants +20 Treasure Chips" to match the token text.

Regarding the 6th Level stackable bonus, is the mythic token the only way to get that? The Stackable +1 Level bonus might also be a nice Set bonus for the Arcanum Set, similar to how the Eldritch set gave the +1 Level bonus. :)

You mention that additional Follower, Mythic, etc. tokens might be created over time, which I think is great. Is it also possible that existing tokens might be retired? Or will they all be available forever?

For something that's supposed to be approachable that initial recipe does feel fairly expensive. Especially for folk's who's main source of trade good is what they transmute from treasure pulls.

Rather see early tiers much more approachable with it scaling up as things go on. Better chance to get folks hooked on saving up.
We're all the kind of people who enjoy the game on a "meta" level. We like talking about the game year-round. We buy tokens. We enjoy crafting. We get together during the off-season if we can. We are a very skewed demographic that way. -Raven

Is there really some benefit to defining all of the specific trade goods? Then you open to arguments that EM is too high and PS is too low and blah, blah, blah. And, every year have to worry about this level of granularity. It's not like only going to have recipes for V, going to have 15 recipes every year for under construction, construction, whatever the thing you can make is.

I had a similar reaction. Overall the recipe looks ok, but 12 EM jumped out at me. Speaking just for me, EM is one of the trade goods I accumulate slowly.

Agreed. My back of the envelope puts lvl 5 at $300 + 2GFs. That's in the relic range, but for those of us who would have to purchase the TGs that's an umph. (yes everyone doesn't have to have all the shinys.)

Perhaps allowing subbing in GFs for some TGs?

There's going to be a Slot Expander Cap of no more than 10 slot expanders equipped in one build?

What constitutes a slot expander? Is Charm of Glory a slot expander because it expands a slot (what I would assume) or a slot swapper? Do slotless slot expanders, like Hitchhiking, count against this cap?
