Welcome! Like Dave said, TD.events is where TD sells tickets to events (except for Gen Con and Gamehole Con, where the tix are sold on the con websites). You can see which classes are taken, which can be helpful if there's a particular class you want to play. Also, you might want to check out the thread that indexes adventuring groups for V11b. It's a place to see if someone is Looking for More (meaning they have all 10 tickets and are looking to fill them) or Looking for Others (meaning they have X number of tickets for the run and are looking to coordinate with the other ticket holders). You can find that thread here .

Follow up: do I get physical tokens for purchasing a ticket for a virtual event, or only whatever treasure is pulled at the end?

I read that the pregens have tokens assigned and that I can use my physical tokens on top of that if I so desire.

All VTD players get a 10-pack mailed to them with their treasure draws after their run. (If you run multiple times, you get multiple 10-packs.) The only difference is that they can’t hand you the 10-pack before the run like they would for in-person VTD, so you get it after.

Is that noted somewhere? I wasn't able to locate it with a quick search for "pregen" on the forums or on the pages I found related to VTD. I want to make sure I don't mislead new people that I've been bringing on board where I could loan them something useful to add to their pregen characters.

That's really unfortunate. Getting the information needed as a new player has been a not great experience, and to hear that there's undocumented tribal knowledge stuff like this really stinks. I'd love to loan some slotless stuff like ioun stones and charms to my friends as they start playing with their pregens.
