This will be my first GHC and it's all rather last minute. I'll be driving up Friday morning and am wondering what the parking situation looks like for the con as far as cost and availability?

There is free parking in front of the convention center. There were plenty of spots available today. It can be a long walk from the back half of the lot if you end up there but I don't think you'll have a problem getting a spot.

There is even overflow parking in the back and side, worse case it's a 5 min walk.
