TOPIC: 2022 Token Release Party

What does everyone think about having 2022 token release party?

Instead of getting your tokens shipped to you, there would be a TD event where everyone can come for the day/weekend pick up their orders, socialize, trade with each other, and do any transmutes.

If you can't make it, tokens would be shipped like normal.

Cool idea, a different version of a TD celebration event.

I wouldn't be able to do it next year sadly but that sounds like it could be a fun time.

I'd be up for it if the weather cooperates. I know this year the tokens were delivered a bit later, but in prior years we were looking at anywhere from late December to early February. That can make for some icy/snow covered roads.

Sure I'd be interested, if TD chose to do such a thing. It would be highly dependent on the weather though at that time of year.

I haven't kept great track, but it feels like there's usually some delay (a couple months) between when token orders ship out and when transmutes can start to be made.

Often, it seems those transmutes start to be available right around the same time as WhosYerCon in Indy (late March / early April). And for at least several years, TD has had a presence there (sometimes just transmuting). I'm hopeful that will return in 2022.

Would I go to an earlier event if TD decided to have one though? Absolutely.

Knowing when the tokens arrive might be the biggest hurdle. You would need to book a place and without knowing the exact date that it would be makes it a hard sell imo.

This would likely be the reason it wouldn't work for me. Aside from the long drive.

A release event might be tough due to the timing, as stated before.

I would be happy if the in-person transmuting came back to WhosYerCon next year.

Where the idea of getting together is grest... tying it to picking up tokens from s very busy td staff might complicate their operations. It would just require planning.

could theoretically just be a pickup and open party at Whos Yer Con or something
