Keep in mind any effect printed on a polymorph potion becomes always available for Legendary Druids.

So be careful with flying (which has traditionally caused a lot of problems).

I like this idea but think the prior blunder weapons were too weak, due to the impact of missing out on your ranged damage bonus when you miss.

Consider a typical usable by all ranged weapon: +1 sling, damage wheel: 2, 3, 4, 5

Let's assume the user gets +4 damage on ranged attacks (easily obtainable from a few tokens and/or level 4 bardsong with an uncommon instrument).

So the average damage on a +1 sling is: 7.5 (3.5 from the sling + 4 from ranged attack bonuses)

Consider the average damage on the Flintlock above with a +4 ranged damage modifier:

0 (and 3 damage to self), 7, 11, 14 = 8

So this weapon gives you an average of +0.5 damage vs the sling with some pretty big downsides.

I'd argue you'd want at least +1 damage to take into account the high variance, and maybe another +0.5 to +1 to take into account the self damage property.

TL:DR; add 2-6 points of damage into your damage wheel.

I originally had it higher, then realized that the damage numbers on the wheel were better than Thor’s, so I backed it down. Given Thor’s (or a +1 shuriken for that matter) gets the STR modifier for damage, maybe adding +3 to the wheel is fair. Perhaps:

Could the dust for magical spells be a perfume or censure water, moist powder, muddy dust, or the like? If it is sea faring I think there should be barrels of the stuff.

Speaking of, I think I read arbalast or musket which could be cool.

I hope any “heavy armors” are actually not that “heavy” and allow for easy floatation or swimming.

Could we get a belt that allows use of two ammos a round like a bandolier hat would allow faster ammo retrieval? I don’t know where this idea might actually be leveled to.

So another thing, could “backfires” on guns still do “0” damage plus pluses to the monster if it is going to hurt the player? Like a chicken leg does more technically at 1 plus and doesn’t hurt the user so it seems like a system wide change to make guns a reasonable option. It could even be 1/2 bonus damage at NM/epic levels if 0 is considered too much (also a miss could be higher damage at those levels -3 normal/ -5 he/ -10 nm/ -15 epic) but the math on average damage breaks a bit when a hit isn’t even always a hit.

Sharpshooter's Eyepatch
+2 to hit with slug weapons
Slugs deal +1 damage


Basically goggles of seeking for guns rather than slings plus a little damage boost because much like goggles of seeking this isn't really going to get a ton of use in high gear tier play and it doesn't really seem breaking for low gear tier play.

Alternatively to the damage boost, maybe something like 'cannot be blinded by nonmagical light'. Has a chance to kick in if a room is ever designed to be moving from dark to bright light and requiring a fort save or you lose your first round of combat. This would be more thematic, but maybe less enticing for players to equip.
