Yes, it will be baked in, as it looks like MEC will be the starting UR to craft the Relic.

Not a wiz and won’t be, so no dog in this fight, but...

I think it’s cleaner to have MEC use mage powers, relic elder mage powers, and legendary arch-mage powers with the bases as described and listed on tokendb. That way you have three levels to design in for future years.

Additionally I think the mage power token idea is great. I don’t know if you’re thinking consumables or not, but the tokens will allow interesting build dynamic (assuming slotted).

The cleric ur is not baked in and the first line leaves it unclear if you need the ur also equip

I like this a lot. I'm not sure on all the powers, but I'm not a top tier player, so the hp amounts for some of the AM powers seem high. My build ends up with 48 hp currently and I know others have way more than that.

The core concept is really awesome and preserves what a lot of people liked about the old MEC, I think. I love that it gives toolkit options, which is a very wizard thing to have.

I'll let everyone else talk numbers, but this is something I'm gonna start organizing tokens for transmuting for.

how is "As MEC" (the first line) unclear?

Question:

Spell Savior costs 15 HP per spell level.

Does that mean Wizards get a free cast of a level 0 spell as a free action for 0 HP?

e.g. cost = 15* spell level = 15*0 = 0
?

I like that the self damage remains. It has become an expected trait of TD Wizards.

This relic is following the path of many of the other class's relic paths. This is really the first year where we've had questions about overlap of abilities at higher token levels. Because old versions of the MEC will be changed to the new powers, there is literally no reason to equip MEC alongside it.

I had this same question. I'm assuming that 0th level spells will cost 15, with each spell level multiplying from there. But it would be good to know either way.

Is it correct that all hp loses occur while taking action(s) it affects but before finding out if the action(s) actually works?

I like that you are limited to each power one time per room.

ok, initial reactions aside, I've prayed to the sacred MEC in my binder....(sorry, couldn't resist).

Here's a little more comprehensive response.
First, there's a lot of creativity and innovation in this version. So at first blush, it seem like it will be lots of fun.
Second, here goes
MEC - Can only be used once per room, but we can use as many hp as we have. It kind of works nicely in terms of how a wizard manages their hp. No problem with this since I can boost it as much as I want. I would see using the Cabal set first and saving this for a second free action in the room. Thus, I get 4 spells in 2 rounds. I will miss not using MEC every round, but I think I can live with that.

Mage Medallion
I really like the bump to 2pts of damage per hp used. this makes me breath a little easier. Since is says "as MEC", I assume its still once per room.
Intensify - I'm going to assume Spell Resistance will come into play periodically making this useful.
Arcane Slide - Generally, not a fan of sliding spells, but nothing says I have to use this. And some people, I'm certain will love it.

Ashenne's Arch-Mage Medallion
Spell Savior - Duplicate effect of RoSS, except the cost is a whole lot higher. It's fine though.
Spell Mastery - A nice effect. Basically replicated Crown of Elemental Mastery, but with a cost.
Boost Ally - Can this be used on a Barbarian using Fury? This is kind of innovative and neat.

Anyway, yes, I do consider this legendary. There's enough here that someone should like at least parts of it. You don't have to like all of it. I would give up my Charm Necklace for this.

Should this one be an Instant Action?

If it's a free action there will never be more than 1 spell cast that benefits from it.

Or if it stays a FA maybe it should cut spell resistance for the rest of the room?
