No to AC please, yes to to-hit. Clerics already tend to have enough AC that they fall in the "almost never targeted" category, except for the occasional "so evil that they hate Clerics and Paladins on sight" monster.

But for what it’s worth - I’ve been asking for spell boosting vol tokens for years. I don’t think it’s ever going to happen.

It’s less that clerics only have 2 damage spells, but more so that ranged and spell damage are stacking to a silly degree. You can build a sling wizard with +21 damage just by using the spell boosters they are going to use anyway. It would be like pairing +melee damage with +healing on items Instead of saddling clerics with +spell damage to go with the +heal.

Someone was talking earlier about a rogue item that added treasure pulls, and it was pointed out that this was a bad idea because the rogue is already one of the most contested classes.

So what is the least contested class? Why not give them some good items? Maybe Dwarven Beard Clasps that are a Dwarf Fighter only slotless or "beard slot" item, if the Dwarf Fighter is the least contested class? (If it is a different class that is least contested, maybe something for them instead?)

Based on class selection for VTD 1a, Elf Wizard was the least selected class. Maybe the focus should be on the Elf Wizard instead.

A set based off the number of ioun stones equipped (similar to the charming set).

The set can be capped at +4, give a +1 for every other ioun equipped, or even only count after the first 3 but with a cap.

The bonuses could be +hit in the gloves slot, damage to all in the feet, charm that gives HP regen (or just straight up health), and AC in an ear or ring.

The set bonus could be a +1 level just like charming. This could be a cool set for those wanting 5th level and the slot expanders would still be in print.

Double hoop earring. Slotless, gives an extra earring slot. Possibly allow two to be outfitted, one per ear.
