I really don't want to go on a rant here but that is extremely frustrating. The inconsistency of completion tokens has been one of the most annoying things about TD for me lately. It's almost impossible to collect them all without getting a GT or buying them from other players. Because even if you go to every con, they might run out, or accidentally give out the wrong ones.

It would require additional overhead to manage but it would let basically solve the issue of bringing the right transmutes/running out at a specific con. Maybe we could even have a costumed NPC or turn in table at transmute where people could make the swap on site. Anyway just brainstorming.

How about
Normal = Completion Token (since new players will probably be able to use the guaranteed rare)
HC = Completion Token or Treasure Chip
NM = Completion Token + Treasure Chip
EP = Completion Token + Treasure Chip + Special XP code that says Epic but still grants 2k xp

Pure speculation but it might be TD HQ trying to make good on the never before seen line from event description after the last minute substitution at gencon.
