I really don’t know how much more ticket prices can go up and not negatively effect players staying in the game.
I also don’t think increasing token price is a good move because at some point you hit the point of diminishing returns.

Besides Gencon, have ticket prices gone up at the other cons? I suspect Gencon is just an aberration because of its size. With that many people, virtually everything sold out right away. I suspect Dragoncon or SDCC could also sell out at those prices but I doubt anywhere else could. The other cons don’t seem to sell out slots.

I definitely do a lot more runs at Origins than Gencon. Mainly because Origins I can control my schedule a lot better - Gencon is something of a crap shoot on slots you get.

Pax West was a sell out. Ok, there were 4 tickets unsold and a few no shows. Many of those spots wound up being filled though.

I understand that Pax South did very well this year. I didn’t make it to Origins.

GHC seems to be the outlier.

Stats for Origins 2019 here

www.truedungeon.com/forum?view=topic&catid=614&id=249064&start=0

Origins
E1 did fairly well with only 5 empty runs. E2 did not fare as well with 18 empty runs. 17 of the 23 empty runs were on Thursday. Hmmm... N3 had 29 empty runs. 17 of them on Friday, breaking the pattern.

Thursday seems to be the lightest day at GHC as well.

That can fall into the category people have to work on Thursday / Friday and are limited to amount of days they can get off each year?

There’s no such thing as “free shipping.” It’s an illusion that caters to people who can’t math. Sure, a lot of companies offer it, but it’s a lie. That just means they lowered their profit margin or (more likely) jacked up their prices to cover postage.

I know someone who literally said she’d rather buy a sweater for $30+”free shipping” than pay $20+5 because not paying for postage “feels more like a bargain.” Makes no sense to me.

With a potential $100-200 tariff on an $8k order (assuming it happens and I think odds are it won’t), if token prices rise more than 3% I’m convinced it won’t be for tariff-related reasons.

Brad, I'm in agreement with you. Like I said, companies offer "free shipping" or in the case of True Dungeon $5 shipping, and absorb the shipping costs above those amounts.

Just to be clear it could tariff-related and additional other reasons. Also as Fiddy (I think) pointed out we don't know the actual cost of tokens to Jeff. Assumptions have been made upon the cost, but none actual know. Therefore we don't know how much the tariff would be.
