TOPIC: Multi-unit Trade Tokens

Multi-unit Trade Tokens 1 week 3 days ago #1

In a recent thread, a poster proposed having individual trade tokens that are multiple units of the original (such as Mystic Silk X 10 or Dwarven Steel X5).

This would be a very helpful change for collectors. Instead of sending in 200 odd tokens for a transmute, we could cut it down to 40 or 50 - reducing shipping costs, reducing TD's sorting time for the tokens, and reducing weight shipped back by TD when we do transmutes. Virtually every trade goods transmute I do is 50X or similar - having a X10 version and X5 version of the trade goods we frequently use would be amazingly helpful.

Specifically, everything but Argonite, Elvish Bismuth, Golden Fleece, Oil of Enchantment could benefit from this. I wouldn't recommend units above X10 since X25 isn't something we'd frequently see in transmuting recipes.

Definitely 5x on all the lesser trade goods would be a big help. I’m not sure 10x or 20x would save them time if the had to make change.

It would help free up space in my storage bins.

I think this is a good idea.

I like the 5x, the higher ones I would be wary on since change (2 back from a 10 for that 8 stone) might become a thing if they end up being too big.

Dwarven Mine
Darkwood Cord (someone else’s I liked)
Silken Stash
Philosophers Boulder
Alchemist Inkwell
Bound Parchment

Just some naming ideas

I suggested the 1x / 5x / 25x figuring that we were so close to 25 on the newest recipes that its likely next year some ingredients will be in the 25-50 range (I'm pessimistically expecting another near 50% to doubling increase again next year). 1/5/10 would work but its not as forward thinking.

No promises, but I'll say this idea was warmly received by those who influence such decisions. Don't expect them this year though.
Have you looked it up in the TDb ?
Please post TDb corrections/suggestions in this thread .

Hopefully, "warmly" meant "with a smile" as opposed to "warmly" as in the post was printed out, tossed into a garbage can, then set ablaze. :)

I would recommend the 5's and 10's but not allow change to be sent back (like we do with 25K bars now). 25's just seem like a real corner case where that would be used and wouldn't apply to 99% of the players but 5's and 10's definitely would get heavy use (especially 5's). My mailman's hernia would thank you.
