I am not sure what I would do with the monk relic/legendary.

Brainstorming:
  • Rolling the effect of Gloves of the Flying Fist into the amulet would require the reprint of the gloves and use them as an ingredient in my opinion.
  • The relic/legendary could also make it easier to trigger Stunning Fist, but Ring of Stunning Fist also exists to extend the trigger range. Perhaps trigger Stunning Fist when both pucks hit and are both on even numbers? Odd numbers? The same number?
  • It would be nice to see some sort of damage boost on the relic/legendary amulet. If we do not want to directly add a strength bonus, some bonus damage could be tied to the previous trigger of "both pucks hit and are on X" where X could be "even numbers", "odd numbers", or "the same number".

Along those lines, maybe a 4-star greaves transmute that requires a certain number of different rare and/or uncommon greaves. Give it maybe -2 darkrift/fire/[2019 damage type]/[2020 damage type]. Or for grins, make it -2 eldritch.

Of course the Ioun Stone slot is well overdue. Maybe something based around a Lavender Ellipsoid reprint given our theme. Could do something like have the relic add +2 damage to attacks vs. undead (+4 for Clerics and Paladins)


Feels too early for a greaves transmute to me... I do agree let's go relic some other slots though.

Agreed. Legendaries should be the upper cap to the game. Nothing should be more ac than the Redoubt set for example. This should make balancing the dungeons by level easier to maintain going forward.

A Ring that incorporated Ring of the Eel, Ring of the Yeti, and Ring of ... ... Ph-ocus ... would make some sense mechanically but has a few problems. It wasn't announced. We already have the ridiculous Boots of the Four Winds for upping damage for everyone. Ring of Focus is long out of print and Ring of Greater Focus is "only" +3.

Like to see another Ring of Greater Focus, though the "no repeat relics" rule restricts realizing repetition. People have suggested close substitutes before.

Of course, Ring has had plenty of action in the past. So, even if that past isn't terribly relevant to newer players, it exists where other slots have lacked.

I don't see a Gloves relic, but we just got Blue Gloves.

Eyes seems wanting some transmute action, including a relic.

Spectacles of Severe Sight (reprint Sniper Spectacles for relic component alt recipe that uses Goggles of Instant Analysis in addition to Sniper Spectacles)

+3 to hit/+3 damage

Crazy power jump. *sigh*

So many tokens are just power increases in a game with wildly divergent power levels. I'd like to see more unusual abilities, like how psychic came about, but that requires spending more time actually thinking about effects.

Ioun Stone of Retribution - retribution damage if hit in melee. Possible 3 retribution damage or retribution damage equal to number equipped in party.

Any slotted item with retribution damage.

I’m personally not into the Retribution builds but I really like the idea of adding a token every year or two for the people that are, they seem to be popular.

Power creep is unavoidable. A level above Legendary would be a way to control it. Every time a new slot is added you wind up with creep. And a new slot with a common, uncommon, rare or UR, etc. allows creep faster because they are cheap and easily available.
