Hi Chax,

The group I'm in has the other 5 tickets.
We have people that prefer Barbarian, Monk, Druid, and Ranger (not sure what to do about this last one here).

I'm still undecided if I want to try a new class or not. Usually play a caster, but am cool with a combat type or bard too. I'll work around your new guy as to give him more variety of choice.

We are all geared out for Nightmare. So hopefully that is your preference as well.
For this group of 5 it will be our first run through E2; will you have already run this one?

Our ranger is basically a bowman; I think we can re-build him into a fighter. The tbd sounds flexible, although I’m hoping to just build him once for all three runs this con
We are nightmare ready, but honestly it doesn’t seem worth it anymore to go past hardcore, just pushes up Heal costs. I’d be interested in your take on that
We only do Origins now [at least these guys won’t go elsewhere :( ]. So it’s our first time as well

Nightmare does get you both completion tokens for a given run, if that sort of thing interests you.

What your post gives, your sig takes away :silly:

Yes it’s the additional one R completion token, and (at least previously) a different completion pin, if that interests you

At the cost of a considerably larger amount of damage. I think I covered this in less detail

Wade, Are you on this run with us?
As also noted, We certainly can, and have, done nightmare. We’ve got the consumables — although so far I’m not seeing cleric. If (your?) group is set on NM, we’re probably ok with it

I'm not on the run, was pointing out the benefits. To be 100% clear, Normal gets the UC completion token, Hardcore gets the rare, NM gets both.

My sig was for horde, not for a run.

Either way, I hope you all have a great run!

At any rate, thanks for the input and as fun as that discussion would be to have, in an appropriate topic, it’s kind of OT here when i invited the other poster’s take as we decide the issue for *this run* with these players.

I'm the Druid on this run. I am kitted out for Healing so that should be no problem on Nightmare. Our Ranger is also a Bowman - Io's +4 - but we can use that as fighter

I have extra tokens as well for any newer players - a full set of Blessed Redoubt Plate, Medallion of Valhalla and Rings of Heroism.

Nightmare won't be a problem (at least until the boss) - when we had hardcore with these characters last year it was too easy (killed the monsters in a round or two tops).

Sounds good; have an unanswered text to our ranger (also io’s etc) out now.
We have no problem running Nm ; I know the discussion for us got a little sidetracked, I’m not worried about the hc vs. nm in terms of surviving. We haven’t died before the last room in any run that I can recall; my only point was a conclusion we reached last year, that the added costs didn’t really justify running Nm. If you guys have considered that and still want to run Nm, we’re fine with it.
And for tokens, I believe we’re well equipped; with the possible exception of any new class specific needs. Let’s continue that discussion as we narrow down our chars; there may be slots where we can help each other. I’m transmuting now and trying to work out our weak spots
Also, We have 10 total avarice/gf, as well ten total synergy, if you need any.

Sounds good. We would prefer NM - reason being we were convinced to do HC on a run last year similarly equipped. We ended up killing the monsters in one round - I think the last battle took a second round but really only had a little life at that point. We ended up standing around for 10 minutes in many rooms.

And our Ranger can go as the Fighter - the build doesn’t change much for him and he can swap out Charm of Shadow Shot for a Synergy. Will be fun to watch the Dual Bowmen have an “archery contest”

So far, we've got:

1. Rogue (Chax' group)
2. Wizard (Chax' group)
3. Paladin (Chax' group)
4. Ranger (Chax' group)
5. Druid (Cary)
6. Barbarian (Tom)
7. Fighter (Greg)
8. Monk (Casey)
9. Unknown (Chax's New Guy)
10. Whatever the party needs (Matt)

Chax, do you know what class your new guy will want to play from the remaining? [Elf Wizard, Fighter (human or dwarf?), Bard, & Cleric] I have a Shirt of Focus and Gregor's Tome for use if I don't play a spell caster/healer as well.

I'm happy with any class remaining. If your person is new, I'd prefer to give them a larger choice of character.

Casey and I would gladly borrow a Synergy as well.
