We're a group of five with four new folks. I personally do a run once per Gen Con (this is the third year), but haven't invested or gravitated to a specific class. Just wondering who the rest of our party is

I've got two tickets. Wysterivern and I will be joining you.

We prefer to play:
Wysterivern - Barbarian
THOT - Bard

If you have a new player who is dying to play one of these post ahead of the con and we will play something else.

As a secondary we would take:

Wysterivern - Any Melee fighting class
THOT- Monk

My guess is that we will run this on Normal.

Have you reached out to your party to determine what everyone may want to play?

We don't have preferences, so you should be good on our end at least.

I suggest asking the new players what they want ahead of time, but that's just me.

I asked. We're all laid back and willing to do whatever. Only one had any preference and it wasn't any of the four classes you listed But even he would be fine doing a different class if someone came who had invested in the two classes he's interested in.

More so, i'm going to describe to them the difference between combat and spellcasting and see which they'd prefer.

If you let me know ahead of time I can bring some loaner gear for the appropriate classes.

Three of us want to do shuffleboard combat classes (one wants to be either ranger or rogue in particular). Myself and one other have no preference, so we might be spellcasters given the current ratio. I'm hesitant to declare any specific classes since we don't know the other three members of our party.

That makes sense.

Ranger is a really fun Melee class. Monk is too.
Whoever plays the wizard can borrow my medallion of mystic mouth if they have wands to use.
