TOPIC: Any sage advise? Event registration

So today is event registration day for non td events at origins. This is our first origins. My wife and I are trying to coordinate events with each other and friends. I have heard registration can be rather frustrating.

Any vets have any sage advise to weather the oncoming storm?

What you are not playing TD for all the hours that you can squeeze runs in??? Just kidding I know there are some that do that but 3 runs each day is all I am planning (or 2 runs and a Horde).

That said I still haven't signed up for a non-TD event in away. I don't know that system is as bad as it was when we flooded it with trying to get TD tickets, which was awful. It is not as good as the Gen Con system (which is not the best either).

Oh I am getting enough runs in to bug the lot of you. I haven't went full in yet on being a patron so will be missing out on patron track events. I just know how chaotic Gen Con reg is with a priority system. This con reg seems... a bit archaic? Still it will be a fun ride none the less.


There seems to be come cool stuff offered amtgaurd, escape rooms, kings of war, D&D Adventures League and it seems my wife is excited to play a game called cuddly chimera?!?!

Last year origins was using a new system and it broke on registration day. I expect them to have the system working better this year.

As for me, I’ll be mostly doing TD runs or running games.

If you are looking for a fun game to play on Wednesday or Thursday I’ll be running a game called Dragons Night Out. It’s a 4 hour block game that only cost $4 to play. (1 ticket or 2 generics). No knowledge of the system is required.

I hopped on a couple minutes before it opened, got put in queue... currently 191 out of 625...

This queue was not here last year from what I recall

Got lucky and checked out after getting 2 tickets. Trying to get a few more and not unable to get any search results and getting bounced from queue to be able to search for nothing.

Looks like I was able to make it through unscathed. My wife and my friends on the other hand... oh the horrors!!!

imo this year is just as annoying as it didn't give a fair chance for everyone to equally grab their event tickets at the same time. If it was announced that there would be a queue system in place then it would have been better.

just my opinion and i can't hate too much because i got all the D&D tickets i wanted.

After i purchased and finished paying, the system let me go back in to purchase more events.
