I want to talk about one of the rooms in E3, and see if maybe I missed something, or there was an easter egg or alternative solution.

We entered a room with a cultist / robed DM (our DM was simply amazing for this room, Friday 10:14 AM!) who said we were in our subconscious, and made lots of jokes and puns and was very engaging.

Wow! Epic?

I wonder if our DM was just super chill?

We ran Friday morning (not Saturday like I said initially in the OP), maybe it changed before or after?

I was the dm for them Thursday afternoon . I was placed there without knowing the module. The previous gym just told me that if they get it in the ring and then it escapes they toke damage .

That is how it was ran on us. If any part appeared outside the ring you take damage.

My party actually asked me about my feelings on this task, as I was playing the Paladin.

Yes you were,
I wasn’t complaining. We Had a mixture of people playing the room some who had done it before and some who had not. It was just the way that we work together that caused us to fail over and over again

It was pretty hilarious as we wrecked this Dungeon on EPIC until that room. We recovered spectacularly thanks to PaliDan killing Blackthorn on the first slide with his Holy Avenger. But I'm still perplexed and how bad it was botched lol.

I did not like the idea of eating souls unless they were confirmed as evil monsters from the past. Then I would have no issue.

Boom goes the Devil Drake when this Rogue slides a 20 with a Holy Hand Grenade.

My group also finished this puzzle very quickly, but I did find it very fun. I had a great time with the ship docking puzzle and this had a similar mechanic.

I think to make it more complex may have to add in some dexterity element that might be hard for some people.

As far as the morality clause, well I for one know that souls are delicious. 😈
Friendly neighbourhood NPC. Do not rob, maim or kill. Else you take 50 points of irresistible damage and I come back to betray you in the next room.
