TOPIC: TRUE GRIND DETAILS!

TRUE GRIND DETAILS! 5 years 4 months ago #13

Eric - we had a great time! I still had 1 leg at the end and was able to flank so I consider them to have been soundly defeated (as I still had one feet, er foot...)

For anyone who may have encountered a duck on Saturday - you really should have known not to pick up a duck in a dungeon :)

Big props to Eric for being flexible ensuring Grinds were fun for everyone! I like the change of venue as well. The open air and light was a refreshing respite from the dungeons. Looking forward to ten more years of Grind!

+1 for the new venue - I thought it worked out great for a Grind - and having the occasional spectator was fun.

Eric and team were great as DM’s for Grind again.

Kirk was forced to pick it up while shutting down at the end of the night

Team Legendary has a blast. We did NM and killed 6 monsters and then turned around clear all monsters on HC with 50 minutes left over.

That Bard was truly the MVP.
It was great to see the rogue melt face with Nightshade+Raphiel's.
Thanks for the run Jim it was fun to play grind!

Eric, I really enjoyed both Grinds I played at GC, great format and at first I was unsure about the setting but it worked out great. I like classic Grind much better that the large scale battles of the Gorgans.

My only disappointment was this was more battle focused and no story for Fiddy to turn into Loki again and betray us. Legendary!

There were potentially story elements but most parties didn't bother with that. There was only one party that really tried to find creative solutions.

- The Druid talked to Fenrir, who offered them to go away if one of them sacrificed an arm. None of them were willing to do so so combat ensued. One of them lost an arm anyway and they took about 100 points of damage. All of which could have been avoided if someone was willing to self-sacrifice.

- They bribed Bloodbeard to go away with ale and gold.

- They defeated the Gazebo with carpenter ants (Devil Ant Orb).

Had a blast, we killed all 12.

Just saying since you might be reading this,
Up the ticket costs and add loot.
I know
I know
Grind is not about the loot.

But the players love it, and
All your runs would all sell out
And you could add more runs too
If you wanted to.

Sometimes change is good,
You know D&D for years had
Level Cap limits on Demi-Humans,
Most players hated it,
Then they finally canned it in 3rd-3.5
And the players love it.
When a Falcon's Strike breaks the body
of its prey, it is because of timing.

GenCon, been going 23 years Straight
