You go into epilogue at 12 min before the official "end" time for your adventure.

If the folks who are running back-to-back runs are allowed to go first in the epilogue line (and assuming there isn't a back-log from the party before you) then those folks can clear epilogue in a minute or two, giving them 10 minutes to get from epilogue to the start of their next adventure.

Ways to maximize this time include:

* Make sure the rest of your party knows you are in a time crunch, and is cool with you going first in line. Have this discussion before you reach the epilogue room.
* Don't draw your treasure in Epilogue. Just get your completion tokens and treasure tokens, and stuff them all in a pouch to deal with later.
* Don't use this time between runs to hit the bag check or the washroom. Head directly to Coaching (assuming you've taken people's advice and already have your wristband for the next adventure) and greet your new party. Select your character and hand off your pre-printed stats (or phone, if there's someone you are comfortable leaving it with.) Use your Coaching time for any bio-breaks which your body may require.

This all works best if you've met the other members of your party(s) before, either online or knowing them in person... but with good communication, it can work on the day-of.

Good luck! I've done back-to-back runs several times before, and they're a blast!

total 120 min=2hrs

Actually, no. You enter epilogue exactly at your official end time.

Shoot. Thanks Andrew (and Laz) for correcting me.
I guess I'm still remembering the waaaay old days when Epilogue was an actual room in the Dungeon, and then you went out to the XP desk.... that was when Epilogue was actually a 12 minute dungeon room (and sometimes had a video, or an NPC do a shpiel to wrap up the event. Aaah, I miss those days.)

But that does bring up a quick point:

***IF*** you finish the final room before the 12 minutes is up, you are allowed to go to Epilogue earlier than the exact end time of the dungeon. You might run into the previous group there, and still end up waiting a bit.. but there's also a chance that you'll be able to get your Treasure chips & Completion tokens before the official end time for your dungeon, giving you a luxurious minute or two to make the stroll from XP back around to the check in & coaching.

I'm pretty sure this is what I've done in the past, because I've definitely had back-to-back runs where I arrived in Coaching just before the official start time for my second run.

All the advice you've gotten here would say that this should be absolutely no issues, particularly if you
A. Check in for both runs before the first one starts
B. Dont care about what class you play in run 2 and have a prebuilt character for each class in one of the approved character generators just in case
C. Have easy access to.your tokens to show you coach
D. Make sure you wait to get food or go to the bathroom until your stats were recorded.

I'd suggest bringing something small to eat with you, just in case. And maybe a water bottle in your bag.

Also, arrive quite early for the first run (maybe 30 min before your scheduled start time) as you may have to wait in 2 separate lines. It wouldn't hurt to familiarize yourself with the location of the 2nd coaching room.

coaching used to be 12 minutes, that is when epilogue was part of it.

There is no longer a wish list person holding a clipboard writing folks' names & numbers down like we had in the past. If you want to go on a run, even if it's at the last minute, you need to purchase an electronic ticket at either td.events (PAX and Origins), gameholecon.com (Gamehole Con), or gencon.com (Gen Con only). I'll update the Coach's Guide to reflect this change.

So, just to be clear, if there is a no-show, that just becomes an unused/unusable ticket? With no way to get someone into that slot?

If so, then at least you dont have to worry about your spot being given away if you run a few minutes late. ...in fact, how long after start time can a person show up and still be let into their event?

Interesting question! I was wondering that myself. Since the Ticket is already sold does TD not care about potentially filling that spot? I can imagine it might create some sort of issue where somebody claims - "You sold my spot anyway so I want my ticket refunded" that TD doesn't want to deal with but other than that, I would think they would want to run as many people through as possible filling every potential spot.
Secondary Question: If the run is close to going into the training room and there are empty spots, can someone quickly go out an Ghost those spots?

Ghosting requires you to have the ticket. Online ticket purchasing stops at some point relative to the run. So you would need to buy the ticket ahead of time.

That was the reason for my question, Would there be someplace out front that could sell those tickets?

I was made aware of this thread and thought because there are multiple questions I'd answer each specifically.

For THIS case, my suggestion would be to show up as early as possible and check in for your E2 event and then go immediately to the E3 check in and check in for the 12:02p. You will then have your arm-bands for both and won't have to worry about checking in to E3 after the E2.

I'm not sure how many tickets you have for these runs (looks like 3 of you), but I would HIGHLY suggest that you transfer the tickets to each individual's badge so they can arrive and check in. We have to scan individual badges, so even if the 3 tickets (6 for 2 runs) are on the one person's badge without the event ending at 9:30, without those other badges, you cannot check those other two people in. We don't normally check people in that early for an event, but if you explain to the Host/Hostesses that you have back to back runs, they will work with you (or ask one of us to approve that).

Hopefully that helps!

Aegoce wrote: We messed up a bit and ended up with an E2 ending at 12:01p and an E3 starting at 12:02p Thursday noon.

Does anybody know if you can check in for the later run more than 2 hours in advance, and if so how much extra time should generally be allotted to handle that process.

To make it even crazier, 2 of the 3 of us on the run have an 8a-9:30a event so might not have a ton of time for checkin. I would be able to warn the check-in people they're coming and will need an early check-in though.

(I know this is suboptimal, but I didn't adequately specify to everybody how to fill the priorities in the wishlist to mimize the chance of this happening so trying to make the best of a less than perfect situation.)

To clarify this discussion, you enter Epilogue exactly 2 hours after your start time. So, if you have a 9:00 am run, you will enter Epilogue at 11:00 am.

Actually, no. You enter epilogue exactly at your official end time. It's still doable, but checking in for the second run before going on the first is essential, so they know you'll be a few minutes late and don't give your spot away to the waitlist.

The answer to this question is a bit more difficult. It really depends WHERE we are. At Gen Con, the tickets were sold through Gen Con's website. So, via e-ticketing, players can open up the app and see if there is a returned ticket that they can then buy. If we have a no-show, Gen Con has given us the ability to "oversell" a run to fill that empty spot.

If you're talking about a show (PAX or Origins) where we've sold tickets through td.events, again, a player can log in and see/purchase any available tickets. In the same manner, we have made it possible for a customer to log in and refund their ticket. So, if we see one with a no-show, I'd advise someone that's hanging around trying to get into a group to keep checking that run, as the ticket holder could go in and refund, thus allowing the waiting person to purchase said ticket.

Hopefully that clears up a somewhat confusing issue!

Thanks Druegar, i recall last year this bothered some folks who were used to hanging around with pocket of generics and waitlisting into runs when they had spare time. Wondering if it would help to get into one of the general pre con announcements that folks never seem to read.

Again, if we're talking about Gen Con, we follow the Event Host Policy (EHP), which states:

"A player with a registered ticket for your event is guaranteed a spot in your event as long as they show up on time. This is true even if your event is $0. If they have a ticket to the event, they are guaranteed a spot. Wait up to 15 minutes for late players, if you can. But if your event schedule is extremely tight and MUST start on time to finish on time, you can count ticketed players as no-shows at your event start time and accept stand-by players at that point.."

We do consider TD an event with an extremely tight schedule, so we follow the policy of considering them a no-show AT the start time. At that point we would go ahead and use the option to "oversell" a slot and get in a stand-by player.
