TOPIC: A huge thanks to the volunteers and show runners for PAX 2019

A huge thanks to the volunteers and show runners for PAX 2019 5 years 3 months ago #1

So not only was this my first PAX event but also my first TD event, my buddies ran both Astral and Odin and for all our runs we had an amazing time, and for me it was easily the highlight of the convention (Bard FTW). Thank you all for an amazing show and I hope to catch you at other conventions and events.

That said I owe an apology to whomever was operating the 2 Ice Giants in Odin's Haven for that final run today for belting out Queen tunes as a Bard Song and getting the rest of the party singing along, and another apology to the Weaponsmith in same said run when she asked me if I knew any victory songs and the only thing that came to mind was the Final Fantasy victory theme (although in my defense at the time I was a 10 year old in a 30-something year old's body and was riding that high like it was the most important 8 seconds of my life).

Hope to see you all next time!

I bet everyone in the room loved the sing along. I was your wizard on that run and thought it was hilarious. Also speaking from past experience running games, it is awesome when you are tired and a high energy group comes in just having a great time. I hope to play with y’all again in the future.

And also welcome to the forms

Welcome to the Forums Wesley,
I’m glad you enjoyed the game. Most of us volunteers get as much joy from watching new players having a ball as we do playing or even more. I look forward to meeting you at a future con.

Awesome job all! I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of PAX, and TD was the reason.

This is such a great community of people, it's nice to get to know all of you a bit more every time.

I was in a group once that did a Bohemian Rhapsody sing along. No need to apologize.

There was a partial sing along when our bard belted out Bob Dylan s Rainy Day Women when facing the Medusa. "Everybody must get stoned!"

Hello and welcome,

As one of the Ice Giants let me say we always enjoy it when the bards get into character. I do recall your singing, and it was good, even though I still think you could use a bucket to help carry that tune. Plenty of people have come through and used the Final Fantasy theme as their victory song, so I feel it is obligatory to make reference to other games(as Metroid for example) just to make them cringe.

On a side note with how much you got into character look into volunteering for various NPC roles, you may enjoy it.

Good luck on your next groups adventure!
