TOPIC: Puzzle solution: How to cross the river in N2?

Puzzle solution: How to cross the river in N2? 5 years 8 months ago #1

Spoilers.

In N2 there was a puzzle room, there was a river with some rocks you had to step on to get across.

First off:

Would Level 1 Psychic Power Adjust Mass have allowed you to just walk across?

Secondly:

What was the solution??? Our party brute forced it.

As a reminder, there was a henge stone with "words" that said, I believe:

STEP
on the
right one

(I might have the line breaks wrong)

STEP was a different bolder font, and the T in particular looked like an up arrow.

The letters in "on the right one" were stylized with straight lines and angles.

The rogue clue was that only the first word in the message is a word.

The stones themselves had one of 3-4 different designs on them.

How did this work?

The heads on the snake were either curved or straight. Everyone’s letter was different

Semper Gumby, Always flexible.

Sartre sits in in a coffee shop and asks for a coffee without cream. The barista apologizes “Sorry, we don't have any cream. Can I offer you a coffee without milk instead?”

You heard correctly.
D&D teaches all the important lessons in life - the low blow, the cheap shot, the back stab, the double cross. - Jerry Marsischky

Let them trap us. We have our swords. - Elric of Melnibone.

You try to get them to play the game, but all they want to do is play the rules. - Ardak Kumerian

I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend - Faramir

Anyone know if an otter/shark polymorph would have worked here?

On my turn to step, I just lucked into it without getting exploded. Dwarf Fighter luck continues to keep on trucking!

I wore boots of water walking and was able to walk across unmolested. Only worked for me though, couldn't toss the boots back to the party, and also couldn't walk back across for some reason.

We made the call to allow Water walking effects (there's several) mid day Friday
I'd probably have told the DM's that an Otter, or Shark would have been unable to swim safely across the fast moving frigid water.
