TOPIC: 3 newbies wondering if there's still a chance.

3 newbies wondering if there's still a chance. 5 years 8 months ago #1

My guess is that all the Intro (Viper Pit?) runs have been sold out for a while now. Should we cut our losses and focus on GameHole Con, or is there a decent possibility of just waiting for no-shows or buying tickets that are only released the week of Gen Con, or the day of? Do people scalp these tickets? (Not sure if that's possible with them being tied to badges!) Thanks so much!

There is allegedly a system to transfer tickets from one badge to another. This is year one, so we’ll see how it goes.

If by “scalp” you mean sell them for more than face value, then absolutely not. Our community would eviscerate anyone who did such a thing.

But people do sometimes buy more tickets than they need for themselves, and then resell them (at face value) to others who join them. They do it because they want to work out characters ahead of time, or so they can play with friends, or just people they can chat with ahead of time.

The forums are the place to try to find some spots.

Worst case: Traditionally, early on Thursday morning is the best time to get standby tickets. People get delayed or forget. Have a bunch of generics ready and check in the TD area as soon as it opens and you could get lucky.

Best of luck

I had a ticket transferred to my badge from someone else’s, so hopefully it shows correctly at Gen Con. It is listed under me scheduled events on the Gen Con page.
Tenth level achieved! Now for the long journey to 11th level!

Saturday morning also a good time to standby in my experience. Folks party too late Friday night and don’t make it to early games. i doubt we will see too much of that on the N series runs because they are so damn expensive, but for Into the Pit maybe.

You also might try

and see the LFM. as they are looking for more players.

Viper pit won’t be at gamehole if you were hoping to do it there. Only dungeons N2 and N3 . N1 journey to astral bliss won’t be.

They will be bit cheaper though

In case you're still looking we plan on returning three tickets to n1 for saturday 3:36-5:36. You should be able to purchase them after we return them on Wednesday.

Also people will go to Standby and post they have tickets to sell. I was forced to do that last year for one event. And waiting to hear from a couple friends this year. Sadly I have one just started an ugly divorce so I might be posting there if he can't make it.
