I just arrived.

lots of the normal flight delays but one big one.
while I was seated on the plane in Brisbane waiting to take off the elderly many walking past fell on me.
His seat was just behind mine so I moved him in to place.
I then noticed he'd just suffered a major stroke.
unable to move his right arm or leg, not able to speak.
Unfortunately I've been through a few strokes with my father, which was one of the conditions leading to his death on the first of this month so I could reorganize what happened.
I got the steward, he called in the paramedics and an ambulance.
the flight staff were damn good in how they handled things
If he'd had the stroke 2 minutes later we would have been sealed up and no one would have noticed, I heard passangers saying they thought he was drunk.

I'm glad I know the signs and what to do and it's reminded me to re-update my cpr and first aid training when I get home.

I strongly encourage all of you to do the same.
*mental note* always listen to Jeff

Awesome that you were able to help him out. I consider you my hero.

My father suffered 2 strokes years ago, the second of which led to his death. My wife has several neurological issues that cause her (and me) some difficulties. She is much improved which allows me to get away to GenCon.

My condolences on your father’s passing.
