Hey all you veterans this forum is vast and I’m having a hard time with finding direct answers with just general build and player questions
Like where should I start with transmutation also is there a trade area for people just starting like to just fill all slots I have a lot of armor but only one ring or no shoes not looking for a super mega mythical pair just to have all slots filled And maybe the rarity with pictures that would help thanks all and I hope this becomes a place for new people to thrive and are able to build their characters up oh also how many other characters do you have ready if your main is taken
Also if something like this exists already can it bee pinned to main page

The Token Database is the definitive source for any token mechanic question you may have. It has images, verbose descriptions, and hyperlinked stat blocks for every token ever printed.

I'll let other players give you suggestions on where to physically acquire tokens.

I found reading the Players Handbook useful to answer a lot of questions, Token DB was a great follow up, and because I'm a "go all in" person, I read the coaches guide and DM guide.

For where to get tokens: In-person cons! The vets are SUPER friendly and willing to give tokens from 10 packs, so it's easy to start amassing. Otherwise you can buy from Trent, Utaku, Kirk, or in the Discord WTB-WTT-WTS channel

It's generally less trading and more sales or gifts. When I started with my group of 5 in 2015, a vet hooked me up with tokens for all our slots for $1 / slot. It was mostly rares, but a few slots had outstanding uncommons in them. At cons, there are generally people giving away tokens to some degree or another.

These days, I join runs where someone has bought all 10 tickets and I know what I'm playing well in advance. When I first started, I used to bring tokens that would work for multiple classes. Ex, I'd come prepared with a set of tokens that would work with Fighter, Dwarf Fighter, Paladin, and Cleric. I never had a run where I couldn't get one of my top 4 choices.

In terms of just looking up tokens and wanting to know the function Druegar has got you cover with his post.

When it comes to fleshing out all slots I have two answers.
1) This involves buying tokens. There are great places to buy tokens out right that will fill slots quickly. I would recommend Trent tokens as that is were I have had success in getting the ones I buy.
2) This involves trading tokens. The discord for True Dungeon Fans has a complete chat for getting tokens you want through trade. There is also a forum thread labeled trade , though as you mention rather difficult to find when new to the forums.

The transmute question is just a matter of going to true dungeons website. From there log in. Go to the tokens tab up top and click the brownish button of what looks like a token burning. It will take you to the transmute page with full rules.

I’ll try and get on later and answer follow questions if you have any but this should at least get you started on gathering the info you need.

A few suggestions:

• I recommend using a character builder -- I prefer www.tdcharactercreator.com but there are other options including a mobile app and an Excel version
• Start with the good tokens that you already have, and then look for tokens that can fill in empty slots in your build. You can buy or trade for those, online or in-person at a future convention
• For transmuting, today it is typically cheaper to buy the end result than to buy the ingredients. But if you want to collect the ingredients over time, then it is good to find a goal and work towards it. Note that most recipes have an expiration date, but Legendaries do not. So find a token you want, look it up in tokendb, find the expiration date and the necessary ingredients, and then start collecting those ingredients over time. Or, like I said, check out how much it costs to just buy it outright.

Is the best place to go. It shows all the tokens you can use and how they work with your character. you can limit to uncommon at first, upgrade to rare or whatever and see how the stats change.
