The tome helped make one-shotting the final boss possible. Converting all the spell damage from a single spell to be "base damage" meant a really amazing boost. Adding 100+ base damage on a x3 crit assassin's crossbow crit then a nat 20 slide resulted in 1,100 damage on that attack. Adding an extra attack through the cursed ring added another 280 on a sneak attack crit separately.

It made for an epic encounter with the wizard turning to dust to power an amazing attack. Epic enough to justify a wish ring being used after the attack to bring the wizard back.
