I think the easiest way to handle curses logistics wise:

Have wrapped 20 packs contain curses in place of some % of uncommon tokens.

Have treasure box single pulls be clean.

Since you need 20 pulls to be cursed, newbies would never run into it. If vets don’t want a curse chance, they pull one at a time.

Not the easiest way, but not saying that is a not the best way. Easiest is to have 1 mix either with or without curses, but I have already mentioned how a player pulling only 3 and getting a curse would suck for them. If multiple people don't want curses then having them pull 20+ from the box is going to slow epilogue down again. As multiple people here have mentioned once they get all their curses they may (depending on the boxes mix) want to pull non-cursed box after that. There also may become the issue of treasure chip hoarding where someone doesn't have 20 but wants a cursed pack so want chips to save up.

I think there is the easy way. 1 Mix (without curses preferably as much as I like the curses). Or there is some sort of version of 2 mixes that would make most people happy however it is not easy. To build on Endgame's idea that curses are in 20 packs have them shrink wrapped in black (or some other color) and then also have 20 packs that don't have curses wrapped in gold like at SC. Also have a box of loose cursed mix. This requires more work and more space and potentially more money (having buy/build a second set of boxes and different colored wrap). This is the most important part imo. Because supplies will be limited to the number of cursed pulls don't let them be redeemed with anything but pulls awarded immediately after the dungeon. Or else someone could show up on Thursday with hundreds of Pirate Maps and just 'buy out' all the curse pulls. This is unlikely but still it would be nice to have the same oppurtunities to choose a cursed pull on Saturday as Thursday (of Gen Con). This is similar (though not exactly the same) as was done at SC. You could not used Pirate Maps on the cursed box it was only your 5 cursed pulls and 20 uncursed pack.

ALL HYPOTHETICAL.

That was honestly one of the coolest uses of a wish ring I've seen. I commend you on doing so

IMO this is an elegant way to implement it.

The downside of that approach is that there will be people with less than 20 treasure draws that want a chance to get a curse, and this would shut them out of that. It's clear that a lot of people see them as a fun addition to the game.

+1 on the 20 packs. For players with fewer than 20 draws, they can take treasure tokens instead of draws and turn in multiples of 20 for the curse box. Otherwise, have a separate box.

Better draws I’d pull until we get one of each curse, then judge the pulls prior to more draws.

Assuming just added to the treasure mix, pull until we one of each curse, then go to the normal mix.

If the curses could be used in any ingredient, and not a specific like darkwood plank, I’d probably just pull for more curses, regardless of how many runs I end up cursed. Regardless of the mix.

I like the idea of the curses in the 20 pack. They could have curses in the standard box and ask if the player wants it and if not let them redraw, but that has it's own problems.
