TOPIC: Gamehole Con 2021

Not exactly a forum just for this, so...

Gamehole Con in Madison Wis. just updated their status to going forward. Meaning game on. They have even announced full dates.

Event Dates - Oct. 21st - Oct. 24th

Housing Portal Opens - April 1st at 12PM CST

Event Submissions Open - May 1st noon CST

VIG Renewals Open - June 15th noon CST

Main Registration Opens - July 1st noon CST

VIG Event Registration Opens - August 15th noon CST

General Event Registration Opens - September 1st noon CST

I'm tentatively excited but they also said the following in their last news letter, so we should still temper our expectations. Also has the mother ship ever confirmed that if GHC happens in person that TD will be there (I legit don't remember)?

Finally, we want to make this perfectly clear: We will not hold a show if it is unsafe for us to do so. We will 100% rely on our local public health experts when it comes to having our show and under what circumstances.

Because this is a very fluid situation and we are talking about an event that is still many months away, we do not have firm policies set when it comes to Covid. We of course will keep you posted as we get closer to our show dates.

They have not. But I'm among those that suspect that TD planning to be at GHC is why they did announce they won't be at the rescheduled Origins.

With how far out this is, plus how much vaccinations are ramping up, I remain hopeful that GHC will be held in person.

I live 10 minutes from the convention center. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that TD can/will be present. If so it's going to be an awesome weekend of local setup crew volunteer shifts plus as many runs as I can fit into my schedule!

Great that is local sources. What about all those people from out of state and country!

I wouldn't think out of state should be that much of an issue. Only real problem is the hotels far as I can think of. Here where I am, there are out of state travel restrictions that if held here would be a problem. But I would like to think by then those would be resolved along with the convention going forward.

Out of country would likely still be an issue, not with the con it's self, but more on the travel visa requirements.

Well, Event Submission begins May 1st and the Con managers seem to be all lights go for the convention at this point.

No mention of any restrictions yet.
