I am glad he spends time not cranking out crap, standards are awesome. I remember the story from the TD arc to this day, I might even get the room numbers correct if I spent some time on it. I should see if I have those modules somewhere and take a gander. Are they online somewhere to read?

I'd say we're past "quality" and into "executive dysfunction", but I also understand completely. I also had two books series in the last five years that had me change my "don't start trilogies until they have release dates for the final book" to "don't start trilogies until all of the books are out".

My understanding is Rothfuss recently said he gutted the book and had to do a significant amount of re-writing because he doesn't want this to become more than 1 book.

Oh geez -- I'm sure sure every fan, his publisher and book sellers everywhere would prefer two books to one. Give us two!

I think he’s tired of it, this is his first series being published. He went from being unknown to having Amazon and Netflix bid for rights to his books. It’s a huge ego trip for anyone.

He got to go from publish when he felt like something was done to having this massive spotlight on him. I’ve heard him scream at people on webcasts about he doesn’t know book will be done,

At least Martin came out and sqid he had horrible writer’s block and can’t get past it.

After watching King go from the spectacular early Dark Tower books to complete drivel after he nearly died, I support authors walking away from projects if their heart isn’t there.

It would be great to see more talented writers who learn the craft of how to be a professional writer before they become a celebrity. Asimov was a great model for that type of writer. He combined “popcorn” writing of small novels with serious endeavors like Foundation.

I did a Kickstarter for a cool doll designed by Jill Thompson, based on her Scary Godmother character. It took about 5 years before we got the finished product, lol. She did keep us all informed as to the design process and all of the hiccups along the way
