the underthing isn’t fully explored in the books. maybe underthing will have fewer monsters than usual and tomb will have more... would be interesting if 1 dungeon ended up with 6 or 7 puzzles and the other has 6 or 7 monsters.

I wouldn’t like to see all 7 be puzzles/combat but 5-6 of the same I think would be a nice change

I disagree. Once you've solved them, the puzzles have near 0 replay value unless you're the rogue, and even then its minimal.

Bit if they have the opposite with 6 combat, that one would have more replay value so if you want to farm the treasure you can do that one.

Actually, that isn't true. I've done escape rooms that alter depending on the initial actions of the group. You could, pretty easily, design puzzle rooms with a small booklet that you give the DM that could have 20+ variations. That would create far more replay ability than a combat room.

only if everyone in the group has seen them would there be little replay. i enjoy puzzles that i know that those i am playing don’t. i find them more enjoyable than seeing the same monster most of the time (there are exceptions).

I find no enjoyment fighting the same monster more than once. I feel combat rooms have far less replay-ability.

There are no strictly-defined monsters in the Underthing...but things can happen. I had lots of help from Pat on this.

It's really neat that Pat is working closely on this. :)

That’s about as canon as it gets...
