TOPIC: Seriously Considering Volunteering - Q's

Seriously Considering Volunteering - Q's 1 month 1 week ago #13

I have been a volunteer coach since 2010. I have gone between full time and part time.
Full time at GenCon works well since shifts are half day. You have plenty of time to do TD runs or other Con activities.
I did a part time Vol at Origins, which are longer shifts. I did part time to give me a day at the con to do con things and play TD with my group.
I haven't been to the other cons TD visits. Pax South and Pax West sound great since they are places I would love to visit, but so far hit conflicts that have kept me away. GHC is too far to drive for me.

I would suggest to do part time if you want to try it out. You get your badge, you can immerse yourself in a wonderful event with awesome people. You can still do many con activities. Even though I vol full time at GC, I only used the room once for a Tuesday shift back in the day. My crew gets our own place, so for me, thats a perk I don't take advantage of.

I will say this: since volunteering, if I wasn't a part of TD at GenCon, I would feel like I missed out on GenCon.
We have met the enemy and they are ours:Two ships, two brigs, one schooner and one sloop
