So Jeff has announced that 2020 will be a new story arc. I think he confirmed in a thread that may not exist anymore that we can expect it to be an S series for "special". I don't think though we know if it will be a multi-year story arc or just a one year story arc. Does anyone recollect anything to determine this aspect of the story-arc? It is possible we don't know yet. Though ultimately it doesn't matter, I do want to know just for my next planned themed run I have been literally thinking about for the past couple years.

Jeff Martin wrote: This will be a "special" year for TD adventures as we will be starting a new story-arc, we are presenting three "special" modules, and we have decide to "go back to the basics" with regard to Common-Rare weapon and armor design. So, instead of something like a "Bogling Hand Axe", there will just be a "Hand Axe"...or instead of "Drow Chainmail" there will be just plain "Chainmail". However, the rest of the tokens will be centered around the three "special" modules that should be much fun to play. One will be in the Underthing (the underbelly of a wizard school) in the world of Pat Rothfuss. Another will be a classic haunted house adventure where players must banish a baneful presence, while the last one will task the group with surviving the legendary Tomb of Terrors.

There's nothing about the proposed modules that would suggest even a connection within the 3 2020 adventures, let alone a multi-year arc.

However, considering the connective tissue in the last arc, it's not impossible.

"we will be starting a new story-arc" means these 3 are connected in my book. It is just a question if they are only connected to each other or part of a multi-year story arc.

Tradition has a monster bit story arc. Since there were 3 previous that I am aware of it is likely 2020 starts the next monster bit story arc. So for all you new players out there be sure to keep at least a full set of 2020 monster bits.

Or the 3 special modules are unconnected, and the new story arc begins with one of the three and then heads into the next year.

True but there have also been a years that don't require certain bits. 2012's were not required in any story arc transmute you just needed any one from 2012.

That may be true for others that I am not aware of.

Hopefully the percentage lands somewhere between too high and where we are now.

I'm secretly hoping for a rothfuss story arc, I love his setting so much it would be amazing to fell like a patty of it (especially with the quality improvements Jeff has been making to the build over the last few years). Dang in now I really want to hunt down the Chandrian.

No, no you don't want any part of a Chandrian.

When flames glow blue, what to do, run and hide

Of the seven sections that’s all I recall of the song. And it’s probably about the fire chicken as much as it is about any other children stories.

Blue flame, everyone knows that GREEN FLAME is the one to be afraid of.
