Yup. The couple were the ranger and bard.

And, isn't sanity really just a one-trick pony anyway? I mean all you get is one trick, rational thinking, but when you're good and crazy, oooh, oooh, oooh, the sky is the limit.

So this is what I have come up with so far for my dwarf fighter. No UR, but should be good enough to tank a bit I hope. I have not done anything harder than normal difficulty. I'm sure it can be improved upon, but I'm not putting any more money into this tight now. Thanks James for the coupon for Trent tokens, I put it to good use. Any suggestions are welcome if there is something glaring that I need to get that will help me. Thank you.

Welcome to the game!

It is loads of fun and teamwork is your best friend! (We stress that at TD101!)

I'd like to chat about your experience and observations directly, and I'll be at GHC, so maybe we could discuss - or even join a TD PUG!

In any case, Cheers and welcome!

They say that the best weapon is the one you never have to use. I respectfully disagree. I prefer the weapon you only have to use once! Oh - and if you really need to think about whether you're going to use the fireball or the + umpty staff of butt-whooping - you're likely to find yourself full of arrows, or fangs, or nasty knives & swords and such. Don't think - just shoot!

Looks like a great build. Some things to remember. AC is probably the least important stat. Health and saves tend to keep you alive in the dungeon better. You seem to be going in that direction anyways so good job.

With your mace, you could be a decent Cleric, too. Maybe add a sling or a couple of throwing hammers. Until you find a clan, it’s good to be flexible.

Thanks for the input and the welcome. I will be there at GhC Thursday night and doing 2 runs Friday N2 at 2 and N3 at 4:25. Then I have to drive home in time for drill on Saturday. Lol

It’s a nice build. I’m a big fan of the defender set. Im not sure if you are aware of it but it has a set bonus.

The Defender Set (2012): When all three items are worn, gain +1 to AC and immunity to Hold, Slow, and other hindrances (à la Boots of Free Action).
Usable by: Cleric, Dwarf Fighter, Fighter, Paladin
Defender Helm
Defender Platemail
Defender Shield

Lenses of Heimdall Sight are great. If you can get your hands on one, it'd be good to have the option to use them when you don't have to protect your group as much with the extra taunt (or when you have to slot over to Fighter/Paladin/Cleric).

Ryan wrote: Thanks all for the welcome. I actually picked up the defender set at GenCon and it sounds like I paid to much for it. Lol oh well. I appriciate all the advise and look forward to more. Right now i am playing N2 on Friday at 2 and N3 on Friday at 4:25. Not sure if I could cram a 12 o'clock in or not with a game at 2. I am watching for an earcuff of vitality, but think for a noob I will have a character that is not awful and didn't break me. Lol

Welcome! Now i feel pressure to make sure you continue to have a good time as I am also on 2pm and 4:25pm runs on Friday. I have 2 friends who will be joining us. They like to play Bard and Cleric. And while I often play an elf wizard, I can be more flexible. So a dwarf fighter will be very welcome. And while I've done N2 and N3 at Gen Con, this will be the first time for my friends to do those runs.

Also, don't worry about your build. While I'm sort of crazy, my friends also don't spend a lot on tokens. I think it'll be fun. At the very least you're welcome to join me after the second run as I try to crash the Trent Token party.
