TOPIC: Looking to buy some rare tokens for Gen Con.

Hey, everyone!

I've been looking to buy some tokens to fill in some slots on my barbarian. If anyone going to Gen Con has these and is willing to sell them for a decent price please let me know. Here is the list of tokens I'm interested in.

Lenses of Heimdall Sight
Gauntlets of Ogre Power
Cloak of Many Pockets
Infernal Hate Plate
Bliss Bull Helm
Earcuff of Vitality
Tyr's Bracers
Lamp of the Marid

I also don't have any Ioun stones, charms, Figurines, runestones, slotless, and I would appreciate and suggestions on what I should get that would work well with my barbarian.

If you look under the Token Stores category, you'll find a handful of people who have stores on the forum.

You could also check out www.tdtavern.com or www.TrentTokens.com and I bet you'll find almost everything you need.

You're definitely going to want an Ioun Stone: Beryl Prism, Ioun Stone: Faceted Amber, FoP: Scarab at rare level. I would highly recommend picking up the beads from this year. Picking up a Greater Alchemist Pouch eventually would help. Most other things I would recommend would be at the UR or higher level.

Without knowing your whole build, it’s hard to say. For example, Midgard Serpent Gauntlets may be better than Ogre Power, if you had something like Bezoar Charm to cut down the poison damage. Barbarians usually have a ton of HP to spare... but that only makes sense if your STR is odd. The extra +1 STR would cost HP but do nothing for you.

Ahh well then nvm. If you keep adding str tokens the mighty sling will out damage the bow but for now looks good.

If you aren't able to find what you are looking for be sure to swing by the token trading on Wednesday if you can. You are sure to find the tokens you want and probably others. Charm of Health should be pretty cheap addition.

The reason for the suggestion of the Mighty Sling is that 'Mighty' weapons use your strength modifier to boost damage. Even though the modegan longbow has a better damage wheel, the Mighty Sling might do better average damage if you strength bonus is +3 or more (strength 16 or better). I strongly suspect it is.

If you are particularly skilled at hitting your weapon's highest damage icon each time, then you would need to get a strength boost of +6 (22 or better) to reach the same level.

Some folks are really good at hitting that number every time. . . I am not one of them and I tend to just aim for the top half of my dmg wheel.

FYI: mighty sling is ~ $3 on trent's tokens and tdtavern websites. The +1 sling is $125 on tdtavern right now.

And if he wanted to with the sling he could rock a shield when doing a ranged attack (you can use the buckler with the bow I know).
