12. people use a lot of percentages based on nothing

is that it?

I'm sure there is something else you missed...........but I'm not re-reading 12 pages of posts to find it.

I think the lords and ladies thing is a very good idea.

I have no special knowledge regarding this topic, but I'd be very surprised if TD has any data on who attends what conventions. Remember, Gen Con (possibly others cons) sells and distributes the tickets, not TD.
Have you looked it up in the TDb ?
Please post TDb corrections in this thread .

Thanks for the info, that makes a lot of sense. Maybe it would be worth it to have some sort of awards program that tracks every run, so TD would have more info on who plays where. :)

Cool, do I get a bonus prize for playing at all the cons?!?!?
Never thought i'd be in the super minority.

Boy that would be cool.
What if my bonus price was more xp! since it only effects a few people this shouldn't be too bad right?

Just kidding...or am I

Matthew, I gave you an example about me driving my car to work.

It was meant as an illustration, not an argument. But rather than listen to what I was trying to communicate, you chose to put a lot of energy into refuting it, I presume as justification for ignoring it completely.

Which you apparently did, and that’s is a shame, because if you had tried to understand what I was trying to tell you, you could have avoided this recent exchange with Mike. Instead, you again came across as a bully and further divided the forum. Now would have been a good time to try to pull it back together.

Now you have another choice. You can take this as a personal attack against you, or as the constructive feedback on your counterproductive communication style it’s intended to be.

I try to know why I’m writing things. Am I trying to inform, persuade, help, entertain? Cool, even if I fail. Am I trying to pump myself or tear someone down? Bad, especially if I succeed.

I ask myself, does this need to be said? Does it need to be said by me? Does it need to be said by me now? And, what is my purpose in writing this? If I don’t like the answers, I don’t send it.

I’m doing that with this one now.

I delete a lot of my posts. Apparently not this one.

Hello Brad - are you addressing me, or Mike?

I'm a bit confused by the quote of Mike, but seeing my name? It seems like the message is directed at me, but the context is missing perhaps?

It was literally addressed to you. I quoted Mike as evidence that you were coming across as making personal attacks.

It’s a real life example, making it much better than my contrived car convos.

If you’re satisfied with the outcomes of your communication style, you’re under no obligation to pay attention to anything I said.

I understand that - quoting author A and then directing a response to forum member B surprised me.

I fully understood your hyperbolic car illustration, and tried to explain as best as I'm able to why I don't think it's relevant to the case I'm trying to make.

It's pretty amazing to read that before you post in the forums you first think of whether or not you're "trying to tear someone down" or not in a thread where I have been nothing but decorous with you an you have rained down a series of insults and personal attacks on me, including that: I'm a bully (twice), I'm arrogant, and that I'm silencing people.

Florida Keys.

Just trying to lighten things up a bit on this thread :)

I know we all love TD. And people are passionate about certain things. Take this thread conversation to a pub where everyone is sitting down face to face with a few beers and I'm sure things would play out differently to some extent.

United would still suck though.

Maybe we'd all be best off if we stopped talking about the thread. There have been far more heated discussions than this on the forums, like almost any thread regarding treasure enhancing tokens.

Nothing to see here, move along. These aren't the forum comments you're looking for. ;)
