Discovered the presence of COTA AirConnect that has service every 30 minutes 7 days a week from 6am to 9pm with a one way ticket being $2.75 exact change cash. The times may vary depending on which way you are heading.

Yeah, that's a great deal. I'm not sure if Uber or the like can go to the airport and a taxi from the airport to downtown would be $25 - $30.

COTA also has a few other nice services. The CBUS runs up and down High Street from German Village up to I think 3rd Avenue every 10 - 15 minutes. It is free. And if you want to avoid the cost and hassle of parking downtown, you can park at Park & Ride lot and take COTA downtown. I don't know if overnight parking is permitted at those.
