Ok, then how do I purchase multiple tickets for a single event?

I’ll probably get booed out of the room for this one: I wish they would do this or some variant of this at Gen Con. I have never understood why someone could think they can buy ten tickets to an event, say three months ahead of time, and then an hour before the event turn five of the tickets in and expect a full (or mostly full) refund. Or have tickets to two conflicting times (through friends and/or multiple buys) and then decide at the last second which one they want to do. It does not help the planning of the event by the sponsors or workers. It is disrespectful. It is very inconvenient for those who wished to play and now have to re-plan at the last second since there is now an opening (more convenient to have had three months), or for those but gave up trying since there were not slots available when they were trying to do their plans.

If you buy a ticket to a rock concert three months prior, can you go up to the counter an hour before the concert and get a refund? I don’t know, I wouldn’t think so. I know you can buy additional insurance just in case you get a flat tire or something and cannot make it.

I am sure some take advantage of the system just so they can do as they please, without any cost to themselves for poor planning and disregard to the population and event as a whole. They should do away with this system. Things happen, and you’re out a ticket, that’s life. Other than that all it takes is proper planning and respect for others.

Gencon does charge 5 percent of the ticket back for any refund . that said i wouldn't want a complete no, things happen, but a limit on the number of tickets, restricitions for conflicts and 4 hours or no refund would be good

Have the transmuting time been announced for Origins? I didn't see it anywhere. Thanks in advance.

Hey all...First time TD'er here!

So my buddy and I signed up for each adventure at Origins. One of the events is sold out, so no worries here. But the other looks like we're still the only two tickets sold. Is there a minimum number of players needed to run an event? If so, will the event just be cancelled if that minimum is not met?

It's still 2 weeks until game time, so I'm not too worried...yet. I'd hate to have my whole schedule planned out, only to have an event cancelled, and then scramble to change things around to try to get into another session.

Please let me know your thoughts...Thanks...

Here are your possibilities:

*The run fills up and there is no issue
*The run partially fills up and you do the run with fewer people (There is no actual minimum, but if you are brand new you'll likely need 2-3 more people at least)
*The run never fills up and the coordinators combine you with another partially filled run
*The run never fills up and you two do the run alone

Welcome, Jim!

First, there is a decent chance that people will be buying tickets at Origins that aren't preordering. So the run might still fill up.

Next, if you get to the event, and the only tickets that have sold are the two you have, TD will often look at the run immediately before and after yours to see if they also have fewer than 10 people signed up, and if it works out for the people involved, they'll combine into one of the time slots.

If you're still only at two people, depending on when you run, there may be players just hanging out near TD that are willing to join you at the last minute as well (if you don't want to try the dungeon with just two people).

I've not personally run into a case where TD just flat-out canceled a run due to only one or two people signing up. I've gone through the dungeon as a three-person group and there are people that have purposely gone through solo (for the challenge).

If you do end up with just two people on your run you can always run it as Non-lethal and not have to worry about potentially dying. I am making the assumption that you might not have many tokens. It will ensure that you get to participate in all the rooms though some of the rooms may require more than two bodies to be fully successful.....or at least easily. Still I wouldn't worry too much. One of the most fun I have had on a run was a two person run at Game Hole Con when we didn't have enough people. I even died in room 5, and I still had a good time.

Great to know that cancelling doesn't seem to be a factor!

They definitely won't cancel the run, or at least I have never heard of that happening. Everything is set up and the volunteers are already there to support your run, so there is no real reason to cancel it.

Besides the transmuting times, I was wondering whether the token packs will be 2016 or 2017? Thanks

Jeff announced that it will be 2017 packs and that the dungeons were tweaked due to using 2017 vs 2016 set boosters.

We're all the kind of people who enjoy the game on a "meta" level. We like talking about the game year-round. We buy tokens. We enjoy crafting. We get together during the off-season if we can. We are a very skewed demographic that way. -Raven
