TOPIC: Newbie runs?

Newbie runs? 7 years 3 months ago #1

This will be my first True Dungeon experience along with 1-3 friends, so I was wondering, would it be better for me to just buy tickets now or wait and hope someone has spots for new players?

I recommend buying the tickets to guarantee you a spot. If even one person wants to play normal, everyone plays normal, even if they wanted nightmare. Most nightmare runs people bought out all ten tickets already...

Recommend, if you are interested, to get the True Horde tickets for Saturday at 10pm first since these will go very quickly.

Might be a bit overwhelming for a first time player.

Go ahead and get a ticketd for a regular run.

Also check the forums and see if anyone is looking to fill out a group they already have tickets for.
D&D teaches all the important lessons in life - the low blow, the cheap shot, the back stab, the double cross. - Jerry Marsischky

Let them trap us. We have our swords. - Elric of Melnibone.

You try to get them to play the game, but all they want to do is play the rules. - Ardak Kumerian

I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend - Faramir

Not a bad idea if its a few of you to buy tickets then post on forums here looking for the others to get an idea on who is on your run. Also a # of people who'd i'd bet on running newbie runs are doing Patron lvl events that ties their timing quite a bit (also 12 person ticket limit means not 1 person buying 2 or more runs like at gencon). Post here and see what happens, good luck either way.
We're all the kind of people who enjoy the game on a "meta" level. We like talking about the game year-round. We buy tokens. We enjoy crafting. We get together during the off-season if we can. We are a very skewed demographic that way. -Raven
