I did the exact same thing in that room, and I didn't have the excuse of playing the Druid for the first time. However, maybe since we were playing Hardcore instead of Nightmare, I only nearly killed the whole party instead of actually doing it. :)

stipulations on everyone wears Ray's ring or remembrance..so puzzle damage is halved..and we can come up with other stuff
