Steve - Cleric - CoA.

I can outfit anyone who doesn't have them with CoA and Nuggets out of the TDT tokens. I just ask we split the loot. I can probably help most of the party get to level 5 as well. [I would need to know ahead of time, to make sure no one else from TDT is using the +1 level stuff.

I'm nightmare capable for any class, I normally offer to cleric as my Healing is +15 (and duplicated to a second wounded character); I'm willing to play whatever folks think we need however, at whatever level we want to run.

Sorry, I don't "own" this run. I just started the strategy thread because there wasn't one created already. I don't think there are any spots available for it.

A little story behind this run :

I originally had the entire run, but decided that I didn't need it so I released it into the wild. It was bought in 1's and 2's. Harlax must have bought 2 of them. (Which he sold to you).

Given the time slot, and the way the tickets were bought, this will be a PUG run .. and at least 50% new players.

I plan on getting there early .. and can grab your cards for you, let the room coach know we need 5th level etc.

I plan on offering the party use of TE tokens, and the ability to get them up to 5th level. [And I can Cleric the crap out of them too, so guaranteed survival to the last room at least.] I'm happy to 'loan' non-weapon tokens in the training room .. but again .. at Normal they won't need much .. maybe a little armour .. or an ioun stone or two. I try not to token 'overload' them.

Truthfully .. I find these runs to be super fun :) and I can outfit folks with CoA to make your's work at 16. [and have Silver Nuggets if you guys have the spare slot too.]

Thanks for the info, Steve. I figured something was amiss when no one else responded after some time had passed. Mike and I are all set on gear and TEs but helping the rest of the crew will definitely benefit us all. Should be a fun run!

Thanks for clarifying! Given the 50/50 (or 60/40) ratio are we running Hardcore then?
Normal may be too easy, the threat of death, in my opinion, adds to the ambiance of the game. Obviously Nightmare would be too much but given what can be loaned out (i will have some tokens to lend as well) and our power levels I think we would make this too easy.

Thoughts?

I always expect to run PUG at 'normal'. Way easier for us to 'scale down' than to take a new player and max them out to the gills with 10 minutes to absorb it.

Token loaning. This can be a huge problem for the poor room coach. If you are planning on loaning anyone ANY tokens, make sure you get there early, before they start making characters. If forum-ites want to borrow tokens .. that is a different story .. because we can coordinate on this thread. [If you need anything for a build .. I'm pretty flush :P Teeth, eldritch, volunteer ioun stones, etc.]

Coming in with 5 mins left in the room, offering to loan out gear when the coach has already done the party card is going to get you a SUPER nasty look from the room coach :P

One way to get around the 'power creep' is to pick a class you never play/don't have gear for .. and play that :) I was a Paladin/Fighter for years before I did a PUG. I showed up late and no one wanted to play Cleric. I knew how dumb THAT would be .. so I grabbed the card .. Turns out I kind of enjoy the class :)

I didn't mean to imply anyone had suggest doing that. I was just highlighting general good advice.

Okay. I'm definitely with you. I've been there and done that and it's not cool. However, I'm not opposed to players sharing gear as long as it's not a last minute rush. When I was a noob (c 2007), I appreciated someone lending me a powerful piece of armor or weapon as it gave me taste of things to come.

And I think it goes without saying that we don't ask the coach to mod an already completed party card...ever.
