This is the same run as this thread .

If you consolidate, can you let me know which one will be the "official" thread so I can index it?

Andrew, it sounds like this one will be the formal thread for this run.

Nice to meet you Hawk.
Glad to have a Bard in our group, very handy in utility and giving us knowledge about the monsters we face (which will be super important this year as the monsters are from Patrick Rothfuss's own imagination and I am not planning on reading the books).

What is your preferred instrument when singing?

We prefer normal difficulty, even though we are probably geared for higher, we are a casual group and unless we have all the slots, pushing for higher can cause ill-will with those who are new to TD.

I have all the instruments. Bardsong bonus from me will always provide +2/+4, as I'll be 5th level and only use instruments that add +2 to damage. I have extra Earcuffs of Inspiration to loan to casters so their damage spells gain the Bardsong bonus damage.

My usual tactics:

Round 1: Start Bardsong with Lyre of Lore, make the Lore check, and fire off a free scroll or potion via Shield of the Scholar or Pouch of Tulz. Since attack strategies could change depending on the Lore info, I politely and humbly request to please let me make the Lore check before casters cast, as it would make no sense to have casters spend spells that are less effective than others before they know what's what.

Round 2: Free action to switch to Widseth's, keep Bardsong up and slide ranged somewhere near the 7-13 targets. I'm pretty confident I'll hit in that low target area on Normal difficulty, leaving the higher ranges and the 19-20 open for the heavy hitters.

Round 3: Adapt. Third round is a utilitarian round depending on how round 2 went. Healing, damage, more sliding, scrolls, whatever is needed.

Not to toot my own horn, but I always bring a lot of punch to the party. :)

We are all also 5th level, and your strategy definitely matches what our bard did, so yes, we are very much on the same page with the Bard being first, even before sliding (sometimes, like the Electric eels, we will want to know the risks to determine if we need to switch weapons).
