Hi Danielle! Variant, good to see you here as well!
I'm thinking that this thread would be a good place to go ahead and plan out our event, since the True Dungeon veterans can poke their heads in from time to time and offer advice/feedback as we chat back and forth.
So, just to get things started, I'm seeing that we will likely all be 4th level characters, and we all choose a different class. You can find a full list of the Character Cards
here
. This particular event is the combat heavy version, but puzzles will be a part of it.
From what I understand, players who choose wizards, clerics and other spellcasters should be pretty good at memorization to boost the effectiveness of their spell damage. Rogues get to open chests that can offer the group a clue to solve a puzzle room, and require good manual dexterity (anyone good at that old childhood game Operation?), and fighter-types get some extra practice at 'combat' before the dungeon run. Combat is a shuffleboard type game where you try to land the sliding disc on a target to 'hit' and cause damage.
No duplicate classes are allowed, so everyone must choose something unique. I'm terrible at remembering anything, so I'll probably shy away from spellcasters. Paladin is intriguing to me, or maybe Rogue if nobody else is up for it.
Also, everyone gets 10 tokens at the start of the run. These are basically magic items that can boost your skills and offer other various ways to aid the party during the dungeon run. Tokens are randomly handed out, so the class you choose might be able to make use of them, or they might be better suited for another party member. Looks like sharing them freely as needed would be ideal. Also, you can purchase tokens ahead of the game through the Token Store
here
.
I'm inclined myself to purchase 10 tokens ($7.99 +$5.00 shipping) in the next few weeks just to give us some extras to have ahead of the game. I will let everyone know what I get so we can maybe even choose classes that might benefit most from the tokens received, if anyone is on the fence about something. On a side note, you can spend some serious cash at that store! Good Lord...
No matter how subtle the wizard, a knife between the shoulder blades will seriously cramp his style.
