I am happy to relay that a great deal of development has occurred this month on both 2017 adventures -- which will be based on the novels and short stories collectively known as the Kingkiller Chronicles. Patrick Rothfuss has been very generous with his time, and we have shared several long but fruitful Skype sessions. Both of us are very happy with our collaboration.

I have to confess I was a little hesitant to base the 2017 adventures in Pat's world of the Kingkiller Chronicles. I worried about working with someone else and someone else's crafted fantasy world. However, my fears were quickly allayed as soon as I saw how geeked out Pat was for the project. He is thrilled to see his world expanded inside of True Dungeon.

The result is that we have a great detailed outline crafted for both adventures -- as well as some cool tokens (based from his world) designed in our 2017 token collection. The adventures look to be really fun, and I would say doubly so for fans of his work. The adventures will include monsters from his novels as well as non-published monsters from his world that may (or may not) appear in a future written work. Also, you may run into a few familiar faces along the way...as well as a locale or two...

The best part of the whole deal is that we have a detailed outline of both adventures at a very early date, and that should boon well for the quality of the event in 2017. I think we will put on a fine show in 2017, and it will be a fitting celebration for the 15th True Dungeon and the 50th Gen Con.

After you read the first novel, I would recommend the short story called "The Lightning Tree"...then jump into the second book.

I think I will be picking both of them up again including that short story and rereading at the beginning of next year!

That sounds great, I'm looking forward to reading more about the adventures. Maybe I should read the books first. What book can the short story you refer to be found in?

The short story is included in a collection crafted by famous authors for charity.

www.amazon.com/Rogues-George-R-Martin/dp/0345537262/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1475163000&sr=8-1&keywords=rogues

Your best bet is to check your local library unless you want to buy the whole book.

It includes a Neil Gaiman story, plus a new George R R Martin Game of Thrones story, I might get the book. :)

Awesome News Jeff -- thanks for sharing it with us!

Is it too soon to inquire whether True Dungeon will make an appearance at Whos-Yer-Con again? As I'm unable to make it to GHC, and eagerly anticipating when I'll get a chance to take part in my favorite thing in gaming again!
