As long as I can hold my rabbits foot while picking bags, I think it should still work ;0

Just attempting to understand the factory thing comment. You saying it would be need to be done at the factory to be wrapped, but cannot because they are being prepared at TD HQ?

I don't know if TD HQ has the machinery to do large quantities of 10- (or 12-) packs, and/or access to non-clear wrappers, and it's probably not feasible to ship tokens back to them do it there, wherever "there" is.

But I'm totally ignorant of how they're made. If they're pre-formed sleeves you just fill up and hit with a hair dryer then maybe it's not that big a deal.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not against Jeff's original post. I'm for whatever is easiest, cheapest, and least headachy for all people concerned. And by that, I mean the people who have to implement it..

Jeff, great solutions to a tricky problem! I'm not sure whether we'll do the 10 packs or the individual draws, maybe a mix of the two. I like the randomness of the wand, but drawing 170 for the whole group will take a LONG time! I do hope the box with the Wand - and the box with the 10 packs, are designed so that people can't see in at all while getting their tokens.

Cool - thanks for making it optional, Jeff, and keeping our occasional eccentricities in mind.

Personally, I think the speed of a 10-pack, combined with the fun of pulling 7 tokens, will be a good combo for me.

For those who want the speed of the pre-made packs, you can always wait until you have done 2 or 3 runs, and pick up multiple 10 packs, and the "spare change" from the treasure generator.

I'm superstitious enough, that I know after our first run if we have more token luck drawing from one box or the other, that is probably how we'll draw all the rest of our tokens from the other runs. ;)

That is a good solution, thank you. I will take mostly bags.

It would be awesome if there were a "super wand" with a magnet strong enough to pick up a 10-bag from a special chest :)

I don't know if this would be over-burdensome or too confusing, but I wonder if it would be prudent to also have pre-made bags of 15. A 6th-level player with a Charm of Avarice would get at least 15 tokens. If others in the group also had CoAs, the extra could be made up with the wand. Pulling 1-2 tokens will go a lot faster than pulling 5-7.

I realize not all CoA owners are 6th-level, but I'll bet the majority of them are.
Have you looked it up in the TDb ?

Hmmm...you can just reach into the special chest and grab a bag...the ol' fashion way.

+1 to this
We're all the kind of people who enjoy the game on a "meta" level. We like talking about the game year-round. We buy tokens. We enjoy crafting. We get together during the off-season if we can. We are a very skewed demographic that way. -Raven

Increments of 5 obviously are the way to go since we get 5X chips.
I think 10 per bag is probably pretty good. Yes it means folks will still be wand-ing their way to victory but that's not a bad thing. It should stretch out the bags some. People make sure the token tenders know how many chips are in the bag. It would be unfortunate if they had to guess or just accepted 1 5x token.

I think the zip ties are critical to insure integrity and enforce honest to a degree.

I see 2 things:
1. cutting the zip ties to get at the tokens might prove problematic for some folks.
2. the bag option rules out the "double check"

The "Double Check" refers to the stage in which we can complain that we somehow got a common when we should not have.

I like the fact that the zipped bags should ensure folks aren't 'tossing back' tokens or 'donating tokens' but if for some reason commons do end up in bags there isn't a great way to handle it.

Obviously no solution is without fault and I think you've come up with a creative way to handle some fairness issues and addressing the tactile flaws. I think your system can work really well but will take some extra training and care. Just have some in place rules for what happens if you draw out more than 1 token at a time.

I caution the bag choices to make sure you can't accidentally mix up the Adventure starting bag with these bags.
Sweet a combat room, we won't take damage!
